windows defender causing input lag?

I discovered that Windows Defender causes input lag in CS and some other games, they said there's no point in just disabling it in the Windows option or in Regedit, because it still stays in the background, you have to disable it with other programs or other antiviruses, does anyone know why? Is it safe to disable it completely to test input lag in the game?

How do you know it does? I've never had an issue with that particular piece of M$ Windows. I guess I could be lucky though.

Windows defender is a virus, it needs to be removed in any way possible. It can steal your banking information and steam logins. It is how people get scammed.
