Latency goes high when playing and goes down when in spectator mode
Question: What is the best way, tools or anything else, to troubleshoot high latency issue? I want to get to the bottom of the issue and understand what is faulty in this set-up between my machine and the game. I don't want to blindly try something.

I have tried everything I could find to solve these ping issues, that is why I am writing.

It would be awesome to get some dev attention to this to give some tips and tricks.

Note: If I'm lucky sometimes first 10-20 seconds of a round will be ok under 90ms, but then it goes up again to 300ms.

Things I have tried:

  1. I checked everything related to my wireless router, checked if channels are not full and checked my ping with speedtest.net. Both are ok.
  2. tried dozen different console configurations to do something with ratelimit, interop and other settings that might help changing. And some things via game launch commands
  3. tried programs that choose only servers with lowest ping. Didn't make a difference.
  4. tried to join community servers with lowest possible ping, again nothing.
  5. And lots of other things I might have forgotten by now.

Most likely ISP congestion or bad line. Also your distance to the server might be quite far.

Take a gander at my guide; network settings. Hopefully this helps.

Have you tested your connection while wired to the router? Wireless has historically been prone to interference.

I'll go through and let you know of my results. Re: congestion, wouldn't that slow down the bandwidth to?

I'll see if that makes any difference and if it solves the issue.
