CSGO Case Keys cost way too much

Like most CSGO players, I like to open cases you know? I want that perfect skin. That perfect knife. But with the chances of getting one, I need to buy a LOT of keys. But see, I cannot do that a whole lot because of the key prices. See, the case amount is ok. .05 cents, thats like a factory new consumer grade. But then there is that key. $2.49. Tsk tsk tsk. That is not a good price given the chances of getting good payoff from the case. When you buy that key, you are a little disappointed. Because when you roll through the wheel of fortune, you hit misfortune. You spend around 2.50-3.00 dollars, maybe more, for a case. When you roll the case, the chances of you getting a valuable weapon for that price, maybe higher, are incredibly low. You spend around 3.00 dollars, and get a weapon for a price of .40c maybe less. Dont you feel great? Gaben just absorbed you money, and turned it into ♥♥♥♥. You say "Well why dont you buy it off the market?" well I say "there is no exciting story behind that. the reason why we people appreciate cases more then the market is the fact that it gives us a story to tell if we receive that dream Karambit Dopplar we have always wanted, but just buying it off the market... That means nothing. You can lie but you wont feel special. You can accept that and you still wont feel any different. Cases make you feel special, accomplished, when you see that golden box get pinned by that line in the middle of the screen you get excited. But when you see yourself clicking that box with the item in it, then clicking purchase. You feel like NOTHING. You feel like you took the cheap(but really, expensive) way out. That is why we buy those cases and buy those keys! But when we buy those keys, we are paying more then we should when we are throwing caution into the wind that will most likely, and will throw ♥♥♥♥ back at us. That is why I say the prices need to be brought DOWN. Not buy much, but maybe go 1.75-1.50 , or maybe lower. That would be preferable but I know you might want to stick to a whole dollar and some pennies. But seriously. 2.49? No... No... I could buy a fricken factory new pink with that, and we all know a key is not worth a f***ing factory new pink.

Not by much but yea maybe take half of it ? yeah thats what i call not much my friend.

Also if the key prieces drop the value of all the skins drop as well just saying. ( iam not sure if you thought that far or not ...)

To end this post of i dont even get why everyone hypes those skins so much some are nice but most of them are just flashy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
i like the m9 knife but hell never would i keep it if this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is worth the amount it is
the only good thing those skins have is you can deal with them so easy steam cash for me there ...

Then don't buy that many keys if you don't like the price. People are obviously paying that much for them (hence the price)

You know what makes me feel good instead of opening boxes? Buying low and selling high. When I do that I know what I'm doing. The result is not depending on luck. And look where that brought me. I don't think I had all the ♥♥♥♥ I have now when I would rely purely on luck.
But whatever. Go on buying keys and trust your luck. Go on gambling.

well they make more mone if they sell the keys for more money
1. they get more money for the keys themself
2. the skin out of the boxes are higher "valued" if the key cost 2.49 instead of 1.50
therefor the skins that get sold on the market cost more --> more "tax" money for valve and or steam.

If they make the keys cheaper, more keys will be bought, more cases will be opened, and more skins will be brought into circulation. If a large amount of rare skins are unboxed, those skins will drop significantly in price, and the economy around CS:GO will crash.

Even lowering the price from $2.49 to $2.39 will have a huge impact.

You should read something about how a market works ;) First of all the original key price has nothing to do with the community market price -> law of supply and demand. The "cheap" skins get just more dropped and most of the time offered on the market. But nobody wants them so you have a high supply but low demand = cheap. The other way round goes for the expensive skins.

That means changing the key price won't really change the value of skins.

Not even going to read. I'm just going to say that they are expensive for a reason. So Valve can make profit. If you had a company like Valve, you wouldn't sell keys for a reasonable price so players could make profit. If you did, that would be throwing your money away.

Be reasonable with business kid, and write in paragraphs.

I think you should read up on some simple economics buddy. Lower key price = more keys bought = more rare items = general value of items decrease. You heard about duplicating? You wonder why the factory new Dragon Lore dropped significantly? Because of the duplicates, more D-Lores means less value for every D-lore do to rarity.
