Duplicate skins

Valve duplicating skins ruining the economy of CSGO
Valve used to return your skins by simply duping them if you got scammed but they stopped it.

Now Valve only dupes your skins if you get hijacked but limited only once per account normally.

So you can basically now buy an account for 10$ put 10,000$ worth of skins on it. Have your friend from different IP address hijack your account and sell your skins. Then you post a support ticket claiming you got your account hijacked and valve will dupe the items you had and you and your friend profited 9990$.

I just recently only found out about this. What do you guys think? Should Valve stop this? Is this unfair for people with super rare high end skins and knives when similiar items are getting duped so their value drops radically?

It seems like there is a corrupt steam support member not happy with hes paycheck so hes making hundreds of thousands of extra dollars by abusing this himself.

This howl I linked you its top 6 best float in the world and there are atleast 10 copies of it meaning its been duped atleast 9 times. Doesn't that seem sketchy at steam support incase they are not corrupt?

I hope to warn people from obtaining high end skins because similiar might be duped by Valve support in masses making them from thousands of dollars worth to worthless.

there are about 63 Duplicates of ST FN howl atm, bt since Valve annouced that they wont pay back the items from hijacking, the process of duping is way harder than it was

Checking the IP adress doesnt take too long?
And its easy to change ur IP adress.. You can download a vpn and acess your account with the vpn enabled

Thats true. Honestly I think they shouldn't return skins no matter what. It does say that your account is your responsibilty. The only real way for your account to get hijacked is your unintelligence or Neo webbed his way through the matrix to find your passcodes. One of these is 100% of the time.

Then explain to them how someone guessed your login name, password, email adress, email password / got ahold of your phone...

Let me know if Im wrong, but the solution should be really, really simple. Instead of duplicating items, why not duplicate the items, but also delete the originals? For example, lets say:

I have a FN M4a4 howl on my account, I give my friend the login info, and he "hijacks" my account, and sends the howl to his account. I file a steam support ticket, and claim I lost my howl to a hijacker. Steam gives a duplicate of that howl to my account, and then removes the howl from the hijackers account.

They can remove skins from the game when doing trade ups, so its definitely possible. Why doesnt steam just do that?

First of all you can't do that because if you lose 1 skin you get 1 skin back. So it would take way to much time + if there are too many the item becomes worthless and that's no good for the ppl that dupe
The items. Think about it an items cost a lot because it's rare if suddenly 5000 of them pop up they lose there rarity thus their value. So the dupoers do it in limited amount to ensure profit

You seriously think the greedy people of CSGO would rather dupe an item 2 times instead of 20? k.

A lot of people who can afford multiple thousand dollar inventories are streamers, and that's how they finance this crap. Have you seen the donations popular streamers get? It's insane.

Oddly enough, nobody cares about duped items in csgo. They have 100% value still.
Go check duped items in the TF2 market. They're worth a lot less.
