anyone have a fix?
keep in mind that it is NOT enough to set your windows power plan to max performance, this won't change individual device settings.
you have to find your mouse in device manager and go thru settings there.
some devices have "power management" tab and most of them have "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" turned on by default.
i had this with wifi adapter that kept throttling or turning off, causing lag or internet drops.
if it happens after every match or round, that however is bit different. it could be that cs2 triggers some kind of "power save" mode, which causes the device to turn off.
i don't know how cs2 is programmed, but it's definetely possible for game to tamper with those settings. cs2 might try and boost your gaming performance by turning off everything that is marked as "power saving".
it's just a theory based on decades of experience in computer field.
you might wanna go thru power plan settings aswell, cuz even max performance still has some settings that turn stuff off.
for example "USB selective suspend settings" might not get disabled by choosing max performance power plan, you have to check individual options.
if mouse doesn't turn itself off while playing, then it's definetly related to windows switching power settings for mouse.
by any chance, you guys minimizing game after every round / match? cuz that would definetely do it. NEVER minimize full screen programs as this always causes weird issues. it's just the way windows works, if you minimize the game, then windows will prioritize the program you switched to, while reducing resource usage of the game, which is where issues might come from.
additionally your mouse might have its own power saving options, go thru the mouse software or check in manual. most wireless mice have built-in power saving settings, which usually trigger when mouse is idle, but can also be triggered by other factors, it highly depends on the mouse software.
anyway i strongly recommend against using wireless mice in gaming (or any wireless stuff). if you want performance, always go for wired.
