low fps on low graphics rtx3050 laptop
I have a problem. Acer nitro 5 laptop (rtx 3050 4gb, i5 10h, 8gb)
CS 2 is very slow. At the time of purchase (2 years ago, then there was still CS GO), I had stable 300+ fps, but over time the fps dropped to 120 with freezing. I decided to completely reinstall the OS because I thought that a hidden mining farm was installed. This helped, but only partially, because the FPS rose to a tolerable 170. Now CS2 has come out, and I have very strong freezes in it. FPS at the lowest settings is less than 120 with a drop to 30. But with all this in GTA 5 I get a consistently smooth picture at high settings. I would also like to note that on my friends’ laptops, which are weaker than mine (gtx1050), there is good FPS on normal graphics. Wherever possible, I set the performance mode (both in nvidia graphics, and in the computer settings, and in the game). Help me please

LMFAO .. yet another badly informed person running unlocked fps and wondering why it wont work ...
running unlocked fps is like driving a ferrari in 1st gear and revving the engine to the max and wondering why it goes slow and overheats.

most likely you fried your laptop. good job. it just amazes me how many people run unlocked fps and then complaining that it has issues .. OFCOURSE IT HAS ISSUES! you must lock your fps to your monitor's hertz capability.

My monitor supports 144 hertz, but the fps is even lower. What do you advise me to do?

Bad take. I have literally the same GPU and I played many games with unlocked FPS for a long time. The only game that has problems with it was CS2.

CS2 will push as high of a framerate as it can which with bad laptop cooling can quickly translate into overheating and since CS2 likes both CPU and GPU for various things, it will hammer those two during gameplay.

What I could suggest though is... DDU'ing your mobile gpu drivers and installing fresh ones from NVidia site and you could also throw some pointless eye candy away (Particle Details, Anti-Aliasing, Disabling NVidia Reflex Boost which causes more issues than what you gain from it) and see if that helps you out I guess.

I changed the drivers just last week. I set the graphics settings to the minimum, and at them the unstable 120 fps

He already did that.

Then try the rest?

I did everything you suggested: I changed the drivers and experimented with graphics both in the game and in the parameters of the laptop

hi there, if your monitor is gsync compatible, you can try enabling reflex + vsync in video settings. for me it is the only way that cs2 feels somehow smooth at the moment (neither running uncapped or using ingame limiter fps_max feels better). it will cap your fps at 138 for your 144Hz monitor while avoiding input lag (though it will be minimal higher than running uncapped). as for other video settings, these are what i would say are the minimum settings to have no disadvantage / glitches: https://youtu.be/C_UWuNkt_Wc?si=wesLkc_zUYvsXlj_
p.s.: i never thought i would use vsync in a shooter - cs2 is literally the only game that requires it

bro is Vsync working for you ?
For me i doesn't work anymore, It doesn't cap FPS and the game feels horrible
I did everything and it still won't turn on, even When its enabled on video settings
even On AMD application Vsync don't work if i turn it on

yes, it works perfectly here, but i rolled back to the cs2 release driver: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/211709/en-us/
everything else after that is worse for cs2 (at least on my rtx 2080), although nvidia claims otherwise.

for me it used to work normally, than CS2 did the November updates
I use Vulkan because DX11 game freezes and crash mid matches
so the first update, Vsync capped FPS to 60 instead of my monitors 75hz
but on DX11 the cap was 75 and game felt smooth (and ofc it crashes so I had to go back to Vulkan)
and now the game Vsync doesn't do anything on both Vulkan and DX11
Disposable_Hero Dec 6, 2023 @ 12:42pm
i think the fps cap is done by nvidia reflex and that is a dx11 thing only (no vulkan support) but i might be wrong...

Also on laptops ur card maybe not running withthe normal powerlimit
especially ACEr uses much lower limits for the 3050 -- leading to performance losses !

Play 4:3 1280x960
-Disable HDR in CS2
-And the other cs2 new setting set it to Best Quality
-MSAA X4

Nvidia Control Panel
-Thread optimization=Active
Vertical sync=Disabled
-Maximum Performance over Quality (a must step for smooth game, sadly)

Also you should set laptop to "Ultimate Performance"

I have an i7 12700H + 3050ti 4gb also Acer Nitro 5,bought especially for CSGO one year ago, actully now is 180-240 FPS on low
