Why won’t CS devs just give themselves Skins?
Just curious why won’t some csgo dev just give himself a 1,5 mil Karambit as if they just “opened” a case in incognito account? how would anyone know? i mean you irl develop the game and write the core code, they could easily get millions by doing that. :steambored:

How do you know they dont? The steam dev accounts come with access to 100% of steams catalog. They proably get skins for free too. Most of them proably dont care. Its just to make valve money.

the steam dev accounts
not only has access to literally every title on steam
but also every appID not publicly listed or desisted from steam
They can also generate any item that's in the the inventory database on steam for any game,

but obviously this is all for testing and developer purposes and you can't actually sale anything because its not a retail client or account.

I would love if they gave me free uniq veteran skins, other people only would get if played CS just as long as me and can perform as me without cheating in the game :steamhappy:

But I doubt they would ever do that ..

I could even sell some more uniq skins for them and they would earn some coins aswell .. and other game developers would get money in their pockets aswell for it :steamhappy:

It's called "being professional".

Probably because if they work all day on a game the last thing they want to do is come home and play more of the same game

Every inventory item created is 100% logged and recorded. There's no way that a Valve employee could get away with that. Plus they make a KILLING when it comes to money, so I doubt they'd be interested in risking a steady job to do what is essentially stealing from a company credit card.

wait until you figure out the banking system.
dont spill the beans!

I don't know how Counter-Strike's internal system works, but for games that use the Steam Inventory Service, there's a complete log of every action that has ever affected every item in every inventory.
