so what if someone gets your IP? you been watching too many movies, there's nothing that one can really do with your IP, other than check which region you're from.
and how do you know it was because of IP? that's not even possible.
your friend got API scammed and this is only possible if you login on some fake websites.
Sethioz what are you talking about bro? There's proof that if you play some kind of modes in CS2 hackers can get into your whole steam account and do whatever they want, trades, open and buy cases or keys, etc.
Didnt have api key setup anywhere. Strong password. 2FA enabled...
Steam support says it's my fault and are unable to help.... even my prime status got sold wtf...
Where it happened ? In prime match ?
People arent able to steal your items from knowing an IP address. They could possibly DDoS the network, and maybe (if their good) start scanning for open ports on the network for enumeration, but outside of that, your friend probably got API scammed. Not to mention it requires a 2FA prompt to be accepted from a separate device, so the idea of losing items from an IP being exposed, is a little silly. This screams account security incompetence. Breaking into a network and from there, into a most likely up-to-date PC is 100% more difficult and often times not worth the risk. Not to mention, these modems and routers have security protocols to help prevent this kinda thing (not that their bulletproof, but usually good enough to keep most people out).
The game is safe to play at the moment, I believe Valve released a hotfix yesterday. Im just playing via a proxy to be extra safe.
Was playing competitive match

way you write with your lol lol lol after every word, just shows how childish you are.
you clearly don't know how computers work or what IP even is or does.
before talking trash about me, do some research. i write game trainers, i do reverse engineering, programming and hacking. been doing that for over 20 years, but by all means believe what you want. believe that you can hack someone if you have their IP. blocked you. you're very badly informed individual.
