In high skill groups matches 5 AWPs in a team = instant lose.
but i agree awp is stupid :D
First, try playing without wallhack, aimbot, grenade helper, radarhack, enemy healthbar, enemy equipement, ... and then come back talking
So if I don't have a flashbang or misuse it there's no reason to try to play against AWPers because AWPers will just simply kill me in like 99.99% situations if I do? Body shooting is easy, throwing a flashbag effectively is not. This is certainly balanced!
What?
Compare it to AK:
With AK you have 30 shots and spraying, with AWP you have 5 shots with very low RPM, means if you're missed, you're dead.
With AWP you have to zoom (enemies can hear you're zooming), or you will miss, and with AK you don't need to.
If you're counter-attacked by more than 1 enemy, with AK you can kill them all, with AWP at the best you can kill one and then you will die.
With AK you're moving faster.
With AK you can use suppressive fire to win few extra seconds for your team and with AWP after a shot you will be pushed since you can't hold the angle after shot.
AK also kills with 1 bullet in the head, even through the helmet.
AK is cheaper, so after lose you can buy AK again, but after losing AWP you have to do eco.
With AK you can easily push in close combat, with AWP it is more like a suicide.
And so on and so on.
AK is simply more universal weapon than AWP.
That's why in pro matches you barely see pros play with more than 1 AWP in a team.
Yeah if you choose to roleplay to be close to enemies for no reason.
You can peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide, peak & hide from a long distance.
For a long range AWP that makes you slower in-scope it matters because erm.............
With AWP you can control a territory as much as you want if you make it blatant you're there.
Yeah, in the head. Not in the body.
And if you buy AWP, you don't have to buy anything ever again because everyone dies.
Probably the only correct statement. But everyone knows better than being ineffective on purpose.
In a negative direction.
They don't want boring lame matches.
Even pros miss their shots, not to mention common players.
But if you can prove otherwise, you're free to join 20k+ lobbies and link the demo where you destroy the whole enemy team with AWP without miss shots.
Most of anything else is countered by a smoke grenade.
Shoulder-peek also exists.
Pros play for money, not for making matches more fun or boring. If they won't win, they won't get money, so if buying many AWPs would be a good strat, pros would do that every single time. But they don't.
You have 25 hrs in CSGO/CS and no matches played and only 40 hours in CSS. As the very first answer said: Only in low skill ranks and against low skilled player awp is OP. Only people who can think about weapon balance are people with at least 10.000 hours who were exceptionally high skilled throughout that time.
People like you don't even grasp what you actually try to do here. Imagine we would lower the hoop in basketball so you can dunk too. This makes no sense. If we lower the hoop you lower the skillceiling of the entire basketball game and it makes less fun and is less attractive to watch.
Same goes with all these 0815 "uhh weapon xy is OP" rant threads in CS. STOP changing the game, LEARN how to play it and how to counter specific weapons. The world/game doesn't resolve around you.
