Macs with Apple M series CPUs heat less and perform better compared to their x86 competitors since they're based on the ARM architecture, and that allows those CPUs to run cooler and more efficient

Apple did the best consumer ARM architecture implementation yet (on the consumer PC space) with their M series cpus and MacOS - windows as an OS, the developers who develop for windows (do they even consider ARM?) and windows ARM CPU vendors (I think there's only Qualcomm so far?) are still FAR behind of apple when it comes to supporting ARM; you can't even get half the apps you would get on a Mac ARM system on a Windows ARM system - and I think apple actually encourages you to make an ARM version of any x86 existing Mac app you published earlier,so maybe thats also helping.

so no,it's not "cosmetics over performance",it's "cosmetics with expectational performance"

differences between traditional x86 vs arm:
https://www.redhat.com/en/topics/linux/ARM-vs-x86

also, just adding further - every smartphone runs on ARM (with the exception of those weird ASUS ZenFones from 2016 with an intel atom in it). :P5R_Morgana:

Also did you know? ARM also has different iterations that improved upon every iteration (ARMv1,ARMv2,ARMv3,ARMv4,ARMv5,ARMv6,ARMv6-M,ARMv7-A,ARMv7-R,ARMv7-M,ARMv7E-M,ARMv8-A)

All that and MacOS is still an absolute garbage when it comes to game development and gaming. Apple loves ruining their great hardware with awful Apple softwares

cs2 becoming Graphics intensive further reduced performances on Macs , would recommend getting a cheap 2nd hand used gaming PC from Ebay/local market

Enjoy <3

The issue is apples refusal to support vulkan. If they would support it, then porting would be much easier. But no. Typical apple wants to do things their way and they want people to use metal, which is only used on apple hardware.

The GDK looks promising.
Also there's Asahi Linux, but as the other poster above me pointed out,it's a bit bare bones.

You can't get a refund anymore. The window closed on December 1st.
