Very bad performance on Linux
CS2 performance has been really bad recently. I played CS2 on launch in Linux, got 200-250fps. I then switched to Windows for a bit, same fps. Now I switched back to Arch Linux and I suddenly only get 50-60 fps on all maps, even in the menu? Tried this on arch and debian with kde and gnome, same results across the board. What could be the issue?
I have a Xeon E5-2684v4 CPU, AMD RX 5700XT GPU and 32GB RAM. I dont use amdvlk drivers, i use the radeon-vulkan mesa drivers

EDIT: I can't mark my own replies as an answer, so feel free to look up my last few replies in this thread.

install tlp, change everything in /etc/tlp.conf to performance
try installing the zen or xanmod kernel
tweak bios for performance settings, disable OS setting of governor and set it to performance

Disabling "boost player contrast" fixed the issue for me

Gonna try setting power saving options to performance as well

7900 XT HERE ---> Vulkan is not ready yet + there is a VRAM leak.

Big problem at full detail 200 fps - windows 580 fps. Just calculate the difference.

Helldivers which is a windows only game works better on linux than friggen counter strike, which used to give 500+fps on a normal rig, but will now give you <50 when water is around.

... meanwhile Steam Deck. I'm playing only on linux for the past 5 years, so yes it can be used for gaming. BTW. Windows also wasn't created for gaming ;D

Download windows like an average normal person in this entire world. WINDOWS IS #1
Time to stop sayind this. This is game fault, and no windows is not better. Bloated as hell with telemetry even on your ass. Windows is for "gaming" because manufacters want to make more money, but games or even other software runs way better on linux in general.
Windows is overrated. If people have common sense and knowledge about the OS. They will stop using the bloatware scrapyard

Performance between windows and linux is like 50% now not to mention the insane INPUT LAG DELAY for some reason. Dunno why.

600 fps on Windows 1440x1080 all full max / Arch - 390 best case scenario (DWM , or other WM.)

Unfortunately, linux is not well supported by game devs and games are not well optimized because there is no point in that as very small amount people play on linux compare to windows. What I did is install windows on external SSD drive with rufus, Windows To Go as image option and using this drive for gaming.
