144hz vs 165hz CS2
I was wondering which monitor is better for an i5-12400F, RTX 3060 12GB with 16GB RAM; the 165hz monitors seem to be cheaper, is there any reason why? I'm mostly going to play CS2 btw

make sure to have a look at the panel and response time.
Sometimes 165hz sounds nice but with a IPS panel and 4ms it would not be optimal for cs.

And then Resolution & monitor size is important.

144hz, your GPU and CPU can keep up with vsync on.

vsync? who uses that with fps games..
Gsync would be better, especially if you look at responsetimes etc.

Edit: or actually not even needed. Would recommend it for more graphical games.

find out which panel they have(detailed, not just ips or va) and check its up and downsides.

What its your budget and how much fps are you getting inside cs2?

This is the one I recently purchased, absolutely love it! Makes CS2 look so much more crisp and watching movies on it are a visual treat.

on the highest settings 1080p i get on average 170 fps, on low settings 1080p it jumps up to 250+
as for budget, anywhere between $150 to $200, it's going to be a temporary monitor while i live back in my hometown, so i'm not going crazy about it

60 Hz vs 1000hz screen?

The true is that it dont matter when Vsync is off 😉

Even a 60hz screen outperform the gpu when Vsync is off 😉

if you only play cs, then get 240hz+. i personally have a 165hz monitor bc i still wanted a good color range

So what i would recommend its the Acer Nitro XF243Y Pbmiiprx, i hade this monitor before and i really like it.

Ideally you want a monitor with the highest refresh rate with the lowest response rate possible. for 1080p the max size you should look for is 24". for 1440p look at 27" and up.

if you are on a budget look at getting a IPS (fast IPS) screen otherwise look to OLED. I would stay clear of VA monitors (unless you want a curved screen) and TN (poor image quality)

There isn't really any difference between 144 vs 165 hz. Also hz isn't the only factor what matters. If you mainly play CS and want the absolute best monitor possible for CS you should get the BenQ ZOWIE XL2546K as the 244hz variant. There're also 360hz monitors but that's barely impactful. Basically every pro player has the XL2546k. It's the gold standard as the hyper x cloud II is the gold standard for headsets for CS.

that probably more to do with sponsorship deals than anything as that monitor is used in all the tournaments.
