CS2 crashes entire PC when alt-tabbing in fullscreen mode
as the title says

this has been happening to me ever since i upgraded to windows 11
entire PC becomes unresponsive, sometimes a blackscreen occures or other windows glitch out.
alt+cntrl+del doesn't work so i cant open the task manager to end cs2 when this happens

i have a gtx 1650 gpu and an AMD 5600g cpu with 32gigs of ram.
tested on latest drivers

workaround is to add -win -noborder to launch commands, but im a bit unsure if this issue can bleed into other parts of the game.

Games have not design to switch between fullscreen game and desktop.
It always have been that way.

Kids from 2015 just demand impossible things and don't understand anything.

If you need switch to different programs while playing.
Use windowed mode, not fullscreen.

This has not been an issue on windows 10, and is not an issue on Garuda and only cs2 has this issue.

Where's your source for this?
I'm a game developer and have been working with low level systems for a while now, especially on Linux.
I do not recall any limitations with graphical APIs or drivers that could cause an entire operating system to brick itself when alt-tabbing.

If you mean Source Engine games have issues with alt-tabbing, then yeah; that is fairly well known. But CS2 runs on Source 2 and source 1 never froze your entire system when their issues occurred.

Please do not spread misinformation on a subject you may have no clue on.

When you add "-novid" to launch options does it cut the intro video for you? I'm soft-banned right now because my Steam-verified install has files with no or bad signatures or some other like nonsense, so disallowed from connecting to VAC-secured servers but just curious.

-novid doesn't seam to be working

also, verify your game files integrity.

Game is unstable poorly optimized i tried driver reinstall, windows reinstall, game/steam reinstall but its still crashing in almost every match once or twice. Other more heavier more graphic/ram demanding steam games are working fine.

He's talking rubbish, I can and have always been able to alt tab- GTX1070, i5 10400f , and 32GB of corsair RAM
p.p.s im on win11,
People don't setup their paging files CORRECTLY< they stick to windows defaults,
SYSDM.CPL is overlooked by all these PC newbs; especially since we passed 4GB RAM 32bit limitations...
their loss,
Latest vcredist redistributables almost always missed too, and for some reason Steam installing these common works are not ever the newest/?!@

I was going to answer but I lost all text when I miss click libary link in this Steam app.

Short answer: I have start playing games from 486 era and have experience different Windows versions, DirectX versions, Games starting from 90's, old PC parts. I have experience lot of BUGS and ERRORS past +20years and I am one of those who saw Google search engine and YouTube site appearing.

One common thing is, kids are demanding impossible things from games. One thing is to play two latest AAA game same time on different screens. Not only alt+tab + streaming

Cool story, what does this has anything to do with my problem that I'm posting here to see if other people are aware of it?

Please, kindly stop talking out of your ass. Unity based games have supported Alt-Tabbing while in Fullscreen mode for years. Unreal games seem to do so too, at least Deep Rock Galactic does. Source 1 games do too, I do it all the time when playing TF2. Even games with in-house engines rarely have issues. Supporting Alt-Tabbing is not some technological miracle that the poor AAA developers can't replicate.

Being able to Alt-Tab is a necessity, especially for those who only have one monitor. There is no valid reason for this not being supported other than Source 2 being new and having a few bugs, which need to be addressed.

The ultimate irony of your statements is that I'm writing this while Alt-Tabbed out of Oxygen Not Included.

all games can alt tab if you fix your paging file,
