Quitting cs forever - gamba addictions
I know especially in this forum no one cares but there's something about this game that always kept me coming back regardless of how much i hated it and from my 13-20 years of being alive i was heavily addicted to specifically csgo gambling websites in which i deposited 50k alone on one site along with the absurd amount spent on the base game itself. over a month ago i decided to finally quit both csgo and tf2 due to them being too addictive and getting in the way of my personal life and the nearly predatory nature of the skins market itself and the gambling sites/ads i seem to always get too this day probably being their target demographic. Probably a skitzo post but im worried for all the other players of this game who have experienced this kind of thing and have developed gambling addictions/depression solely because of this fun game they played with friends back in the day. I think either gambling sites should be outright banned or cases should be tied to the legal gambling age because as much as we love valve this is a way bigger problem then it may seem. Sorry and have a seriously awesome year all! :)

Please do not gamble you will lose your money and skins only the steam market is 100% safe and if you want a fun surprise just open some cases instead it's safe and fun and a good way to win lots of nice skins too!

Engage in commercial activity
Examples of such prohibited behavior include: posting advertisements; running contests; gambling; buying or selling Steam accounts; selling content, gift cards, or other items; and begging.

You should look it up for 2 seconds before you say something like that :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

then by terms why does valve allow these sites to continue to operate?

What are they supposed to do? Valve has no control over those websites.

Valve does not condone or support any gambling sites, in fact it's against their terms to use them...

They can't simply shut them down, doesn't work like that. Sites can be operating from other countries, or in other ways that protect them. To assume Valve can just go stop this from happening is a very immature outlook on the world, it just doesn't work that way.

Also, websites operate in multiple different regions, so "legal gambling age" varies from no limit at all, to 21+...

Your whole post just doesn't make much sense, which you know, since you yourself called it a "skitzo post".

You're right

The whole thing is still incredibly sketchy and i believe there should be some sort of barrier at least for KIDS you can name gambling sites that require identification but there are even more that allow anything
Jizzguzzler2009 Jan 3, 2024 @ 9:33pm
keyword "KIDS"

That's because in the countries where they operate, anyone, including kids, can gamble or do whatever. Complaining about it on the forums isn't going to do anything.

I don't disagree with you, it's messed up in some cases, but the world is not always a good place, and certain people will take advantage of that...
