I think it's because russia is the biggest country in europe and they also seem to spend more time on entertainment than people from other parts of europe.

CS is of great importance in the culture of Russian millennials, along with Warcraft 3 (and after DotA), and Quake. This is due to computer clubs, in the 90s and early noughties, until everyone had the Internet to play from home (2005-2007). For some reason, most of these clubs had these games installed. Not sure why modern kids to in CS, maybe money

because valve doesn't care and don't want to open up a CIS server region - which every other mp game has.... sigh

According to the results, Russia has the largest share of the CS:GO player base with 11.65 percent. Russia is followed by the US with 10.66 percent and Poland with 5.32 percent. Behind Poland are Brazil with 4.87 percent and Germany with 4.55 percent.

Because by "Russians" you generalize and include ukrainians and many other nationalities united by the use of the Russian language. Most likely, ethnic russians and even citizens of Russia in this group may even be in the minority.

Find friends among your peers and do not suffer from excessive nationalism.
