Impossible to play competitive
unlocked fps is like driving a ferrari in first gear, revving the engine to the max and whining "omg why its so slow"
what is this nowday nonsense trend of running unlocked FPS and frying your gpu for no reason?
if your monitor cant show 200fps, WHY DO YOU NEED IT FOR???
also running unlocked fps is like having a big fat straw for your milkshake .. with lot of holes on sides, so 50% or more will just pour to the floor while you drink it.
this is how dumb it is running unlocked fps, but by all means ... keep doing it and wondering why your hardware fries so easily and why nothing works at it should.
i have no problems with GTX 1080, runs smooth as butter while GPU is only 25-30% use. i run it in 1440p 60fps, could put it in 4k, but i dont like the tiny interface and text.
Read https://blurbusters.com/faq/benefits-of-frame-rate-above-refresh-rate/ for more on this.
You are the one who doesn't understand what you are talking about.
In pretty much any game (unless you use gsync) and especially competitive one you want the maximum fps possible for minimal frame delay.
Playing cs with 60fps feels unbearable even with 60hz monitor
sure, because every post you find on google is true.
you know there are many posts that say earth is flat, they GOT PROOF!
they also say ISS is a plane or balloon, they GOT PROOF!
i've been working with computers since i was like 6-7 years old, i do my own testing.
technically your sentence is true, but so is that "turning on your car's underglow lights will make your car lighter and faster as light will act as light-based thrusters". technically its true, because light has weight and it DOES make car lighter, but that amount is so ridiculously low, that compared to weight of the light itself, it cannot be even measured without using lab equipment.
same goes for the input lag, difference is to tiny that it won't give you any advantage.
players on 60hz monitor playing 60fps vs 250fps, won't have any disadvantage/advantage.
And even a tiny difference can help. Ideally the input lag should match the network delay so with a ping of 10ms 100FPS is ideal.
I find an definite advantage with higher frame rates, the game just feels better.
