HIGH DATA USAGE IN CS2

i am on limited internet, and i noticed that cs2 data consumption is around 250MB/per match and when it was CSGO it was around 100/MB per match. If valve seeing this thread then please fix this

Yeah, sadly this is the case
u can also turn down the fps and polling rate on mouse to lower the bandwidth, and you can also try limiting bandwidth in setting > game > max bandwidth > 1MBps

the increased data usage comes from subtick stuff, the client has to somehow tell the server when your inputs were actually pressed between ticks after all

to decrease max bandwidth used per second you can either use game's settings (which you said don't work for you) or something external like NetLimiter 4, or just set fps_max to 64 or 92

There are many countries where the internet is expensive and even more expensive day by day. Yes, in my country, every 5 gigs of internet costs 1 dollar and the income of a worker is 100 dollars a month. In the year 2023, the volume of data is important.. There is no reason because everything is good in your country , all countries should be good !

yea sadly but we who live in a bad location do care bro. Not all places are like UAE or other countries

This was also my concerns since CS:GO. On cs1.6 (with mod) data consume just around 50MB/hr play time, on CS:GO was around 150MB/hr last time i try and now CS2 around 450MB/hr. Had confirmed this on my own test by buying 1GB package data from a mobile ISP and i can play CS2 for around 2hr and 20mins with it. Unlimited internet data are still kind of luxury on my country that many people can't afford. Let alone unlimited, even average internet is still expensive for some people. Theres friends (a community) that still play cs 1.6 on a community server run by community donation.

I still play cs1.6 (cs1) till today because there where my friends play. CS2 is great but not everybody can afford to play even though its free to play. I hope that in the future there will be new technology that can make competitive games like this have good graphics and gameplay but consume less data so that Gaben's team can make the next CS series playable by more people. Many friends born with cs on their gaming life, we used to play CS at internet cafe together after school (around 2002-2004) and we still play it till today. I try ask them to move on to CS:GO on its release but after they try it most of them said that they can't afford the data usage in the long term. Im afraid to ask them again to try CS2...
