CS2 crashing and being stuck on "downloading content 0%" when reopened

Whenever i play CS2 i will get a random crash that forces me to close the game. When i try to reopen the game the steam launcher will not allow me to run the game due to it "downloading content 0%". When the game I was playing in finishes, it allows me back in but i receive a ban. There seems to be no fix to this issues yet and I want the issue to be addressed by Valve.

Nothing works, not the backup method, not even verify game file integrity.
Thanks Valve, never in my 8 years of CSGO have I seen such an error once.

are you kidding me valve? this issue is so old, and you are unable to fix it, but you can bring new skins where you earn more money. my game is crashing and i lose 1k elo every time. what a trash game

just had to uninstall the game becaue i couldnt think of anything else. this is the first time its happened to me in premire but im scared to play because ill just get kicked halfway through. this is ridiculous.

I found a solution today that I haven't tried before but worked for me. I went through the usually frustration. Middle of game, random crash. Hurry to get back in, game won't launch, stuck at downloading content 0%. Nothing makes it change. Verify integrity, stuck at 0%, log out, back in, stuck at 0% again. Clear cache, no affect, still 0% downloading content. Ensure nothing in download queue etc..

But today, when this happened and all frustration broke out, I went to Steam -> Settings -> Downloads, and top Right, change your download region from your current region, to a different region near you. I went from US - Seattle to US - Los Angelos. It made me reboot steam client, but I launched CS2, clicking Play, immediately starting downloading content and was able to load back into CS2.

So, makes me think it's a local outage that prevents it from downloading content? Either way, I'll keep this method in mind for when this happens again, as it inevitable does. I hope this help someone else avoid a cooldown for something out of your control.

Today I realized something, i have a 16gb ram and for some reason my pc was using about 70% of the total space(without open the cs) then I downloaded an program for optimizing my ram and now i have about 50% of free space, my cs are ok for now, not crashing. I don’t know if at some point will crash again but for now are working. I recommended y’all check if the ram have space and try that too.

There might be a issue if you have too much games waiting for update, or it has downloaded an update but then suddenly paused the game.

So if u have this issue then update other games or disable auto-update and u should be ok.
But also:
cleared cache - didnt work
Moved downloading to other region : didnt work.
Updated other games which were waiting for update. Now its ok. maybe it helps.
