"Required map is missing on your client."

When trying to connect to a community server with a custom map, I get an error message that says:

"Required map is missing on your client."

Old CS was designed to automatically download the map while you connect to the server. Volvo, plz.

No it wasnt. You had to select an option that you allowed the game to download custom maps and/or files from community servers.

They just added "Install Counter-Strike workshop tools" in the game options, not sure if thats for custom community maps. But try and enable it.

Not sure if this is still in issue in CS2 but in CSGO it definitely was for some maps:

Subscribe to the map in the workshop and then go to

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\maps\workshop\YOURID

and copy the randommap.bsp file to

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\maps\

the new cs2 path might be

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\maps\

can't hurt to copy-paste the map there too. Just give it a try, I'm not going to test it myself.

Same issue for me. Adding -insecure to the launch options works but isn't a permanent solution.

i started to get this problem after i had installed Legacy Version of CS:GO, probably clear reinstallation gonna fix this problem (with deleting cs2 folder)

with insecure tag i can only do workshop map but still not join, every help?

-insecure works for me (still linux). Lets see if it works after removing it
