My friend's account is stuck in silver 1...

My friend let me borrow his account which is silver 1 so I could boost it out of silver 1. Right now I have the account on a 13 win streak, top fragging in 11/13 of them, and yet it hasn't ranked up yet. Is there any reason why it hasn't ranked up yet? Usually it would take 6-8 wins or so in a row, but the account is still in silver 1.

You have to make it pass all the old silver elos.

Well he should earn the rank himself. If a silver 1 then that is his rank. He will get kicked and do bad in higher ranks if he does not deserve the rank. There is a reason he is a silver 1.

I just wanna get it to silver 2. Also he doesn't really play much csgo anymore so I'm doing this mostly for fun, kind of like a break from gold nova. He actually made a new account becase he believes it is truly stuck, and slowly I'm starting to believe it too.

Boosting your fren only makes it bad for him and maybe yourself. In higher ranks, he will struggle to win if he solo q.. If he team up with u, u will have to carry him, effectively making it 4v5 or 4v6 depending on his gamesense..

Just like how i wish i could just derank and drop to gold nova.. But no, i just cant go on a losing streak without purposely throwing the game.. And no i cant throw the game because im afraid of getting reported for griefing...

well i doubt its stuck. he probably lost 100 straight matches doing bad. i am not going to pretent to know exactly how the rank system works. but if its similar to an elo system in chess. (there own version). he may be at a very low points score. playing others of similar rank will only bring his score up so slightly. so it will take a lot to rank up.


your best bet would be to get a 5 man team together at your normal rank, so if you are a nova 4 for instance. then get 4 friends who are about a nova 4 rank. and play. you being a silver 1 playing at that rank group and getting a win would result in gaining a lot more points.


but i say just let him play his own. if he does not play often then he will lose the rank anyways so why waist the time. just play your account.
