If you have Windows 10,there's a built-in recorder you can toggle on the fly (shortcut Win+Alt+R),but it requires an XBox account.
In-game overlay Overwolf have a free screen recorder that have the options to set the video quality and framerates.
I'm afraid the quality you'll have for your clip have to be lowered in order to get an acceptable framerate.
I haven't touched Nvidia Shadowplay because I only have a laptop,you should try that first.So far I've found that Windows 10 built-in screen recorder have the most minimal performance loss for integrated card.Lucky you're on PC.
