Client Side Skins.

Is it possible to change the game files in csgo for a default skin for a custom skin you made? Of course it would be only client side but can you?

What. Why LOL shouldn't they be focusing on the cheaters rather then a skin that only you can see?

It's server convar which when enabled, forces consistency in custom content, which is to say, it's not allowed. All Valve servers have sv_pure enabled, meaning custom content is not allowed there.

It's to keep things fair.
Like mods and such, Sv-pure disables them.
sv_pure 0 or 1 i believe. You cant do it on official servers ofcourse

I think if you also include "-insecure" in your launch properties, it won't matter, though I'd suggest consulting an actual skin maker or someone who makes a guide about such. It's a real pain in the ass to modify your files to get a custom skin, and with how much extra space it will take up (the extracted files, backups, etc) you'll probably find after an hour or two it isn't worth a few different appearances to have over 10 gigabytes of extra files, and alot of steps you have to do... that and seperate software you need for extracting the files, modifying the skins to what you want, etc.

It is an automated system, so "they" are focusing on everything at once since it isn't a person.

So it is possible on non secure servers, but its not reccomended because its a pain in the ass. Understandable. I would probably become bored of the skins in 10 minutes. I was just wondering because I see all these skins in comp matches and thought it would be cool to have my own.

I would love to have a free karambit. Would improve my gameplay because it makes me feel like a pro
