Who is "Chicken", and how'd they join my lobby?

I was just in the middle of setting up a lobby with one of my listed friends, and then three players with the username "Chicken", joined my lobby one by one, a few seconds later. They're not on my friends list. Who are they and how did they get in?

Chiken is a famous and mysterious lobby invader. Even on valve majors.

There's an exploit which lets you join random lobbies. (There's even a tool that lets you find a person's steamID and allows you to connect to their lobby even if you're not on their friends list and they've blocked you!)

Alot of people are "Chiken Copycats". They're not the "REAL" Chiken, but they're fans of him and use his username and avatar and join random lobbies as a tribute to him, basically.
