Premier ratings are strange.

On this account I have 12 wins with a 63.16% win ratio and that gives me a rating of 4,423.
Someone on my friends list also has 12 wins with a 41.38% win ratio and is rated 5,386.
My second account I have 10 wins with a 58.82% win ratio and a rating of 7,502.

What gives?

At very start you got placed at same basic level and every game after that will move you up or down. So calibration matches are most volatile. Even order of wins or losses will affect. Plus enemies are not constant so you'll also have differences even with the same number of wins and loses.
That doesn't really matter after all, since it's pretty easy to read if you're not on your level.

its just valve picking winners and losers, the system makes no sense and whoever came up with it need to be sacked

We kinda know how the ranking system works. To put you in perspective, i was LEM in csgo before the transition and ive played solo mostly on cs2. Won my 10 wins on dust 2 to see whats up... they sent me to silver 3. I was literally raping the opponents, and still doing. You think the "hackusation" will stop with a sh!t placement system like that? The system isnt forgiving, and really not rewarding. So therefor, that single lost will drop you more than the 6 next win. Its been bad since the limited test and i've pointed it out countless time. Its not the anti cheat that sucks, its the ranking system, and always will be.

Ranks per map means nothing since premier is a main competitive mode now. Most people won't even try calibrate here, so it has a really low playerbase to calculate rank properly.

I don't get the placement games either. One time you play against people with no ranks that are hilariously bad just to get obliterated in your next game versus a team with players of 3-4k rating

Seems to me like the whole rank system is a mess though, because what's the point of the game calibrating your skill rating for ~20 games when good players still get thrown into 3k rating. It's almost as if the premier matchmaking encourages "involuntary smurfing" lol

It does not. It will only if you win. If your team make you lose as they are way under skilled than you and your opponent you are victim and will be placed lower than if you would of played with players of your calibre in a 5 man.

If you're really better than average on some level, you're an advantage for your team, so it will be easier to win in most situations.
