Just reskin it with goofier graphics with minimal meaningful differences besides distracting effects. Take away half of the maps+modes+features. Change the graphics enough so that there's an even larger handicap gap between players with 1k+gaming rigs and normal casual players that were just able to play CSGO. Don't fix ANY of the DOZENS of long standing issues that the loyal player base has complained about for YEARS ... Lastly, remove the original game everyone loved. Why on earth did they do this and not fix anything important?

It was the most active game as csgo.
I'm not sure if the pros have a choice because they don't create the event (what kind of argument is this btw ?) Shroud (i'm pretty sure he was a pro at some point right ?) said the game will die.
Please see the plethora of complaints in this very same forum about the problems. Look at them, nothing but complaints.

Wow, it was overwhelmingly positive throughout the past 5 years and then cs2 launched and now its... UHHHH MIXED ?! NO WAY!!

CSGO was far from polished. In fact there was a laundry list of things to be done. but it was def wasnt' in a playable state within 2 months of launch, and valve surely didnt' just replace the existing cs community with the new one. in fact it was a totally separate game. it still is actually. They still support that game too. Crazy right ? we are talking about phasing out the best version of counterstrike that the community had a hand in creating in lieu of a cash grab at this point. Already talking of an operation. Literally all the community wanted was 128 tick official valve servers and a graphics update. and they created a whole new technology and it's all server side. IDK what they have for servers but they could barely handle normal 64tick csgo mm, and subtick is supposed to be an update everytime there's an input from any players? how is that even a thing when we know that valve at one point HARDCODED a -50 ping into the game to "shut them up"

i mean first off we gotta discuss if CSGO was even a finished product.
it has a lot of things left unfinished in the game files before the cs2 update.
Not to mention the sorry state of matchmaking towards the end

And they didn't even fix the things that needed to be finished in CSGO. That's the point The balance/matchmaking is even more deplorable now... They changed things that didn't matter, removed things people care about, and didn't fix the most complained about issues. And the only thing I hear is "IT'S NOT FINISHED YET", it's the worst excuse ever! The whole point is they had 10 years and just now decided to restart from the ground up.

You're not wrong, but it's sad you and a few others are responding to fair and balanced complaints as a corporate boot licking defense force proudly defending bad practices with bizarre non-responses "HAHA Read the fine print dummies they can do whatever they want and you and yours can get FKED for all we care muhahahaha!" lol that's a poor and careless take that doesn't address the original points.

The bottom line is they forcibly took something away from us, replaced it with something a lot of people are unhappy with, and saying they can do what they want so stop complaining and wait patiently until they slowly fix all the problems they caused is a terrible justification.

at least you're acknowledging in some way how ridiculous this is. These are facts dude. Games are addictive because they give you feel good chemicals in your brain. companies have researched this WAY MORE than they have researched actually creating a balanced rule set. You just haven't found your particular "fix" yet. When you do, you will understand.

theres no good reason to drop support for csgo this early, we dont have danger zone workshop maps arms race and theres a lot of bugs those are all valid reasons to keep playing csgo until cs2 is finnished. At this point im fully expecting that it will take at least 6 months until we get all those features back if at all.
