when workshop comes out it will be reflex bot training mixed with DM community servers
The way to improve your pure mechanics is to drill your muscle memory daily. If you kill 20 people per 60min premier match it will take you 50 hours to kill 1000 people.
If you really want to get better at aim use an aim bots server where the bots move around you quickly 360 degrees. And make sure you're not standing still to prac counter strafing. (and you shouldn't be standing still ever in CS unless your holding an angle anyways)
You can get about 1000 kills per 25 mins. Basically meaning that if you did it for 50 hours you would muscle memory train aim with a certain weapon 120,000 times opposed to 1000 times assuming that you 20 bomb every game you play by just playing PUGs.
If you really want to improve, speaking as a player who has IGLed for lvl 10 teams before.
Mechanically you use aim servers, PUGS don't help you improve.
Game intuition, you want to watch pro games, look at the mini-map, analyse the game on GOTV and watch back your own games, pick out things you do "badly" maybe it's cross heir placement, maybe it's movement, maybe it's utility knowledge etc.
Utility you just need to get yourself into a prac server and play around, this can also be used to prac your movement and you may find new angles to hold from.
You can also improve by practising your comms, you can do this by hoping into a DM and calling out loud to yourself as you play, playing whilst comming is a very underrated skill a lot of people can't do.
Depending on your starting point, just start by doing an hour of pure mechanical training daily, can be DM, can be a workshop aim map, can be aim botz, can be reflex bots, can be Yprac etc. (DON'T use aimlabs, the workshop for CS has vastly better tools).
After you notice your aim improve which you will because believe it or not, training your aim makes your aim better (I know, really simple concept people can't grasp). Then I'd recommend throwing in some utility knowledge then practise your comming, then do your VOD reviews of pro games + your own gameplay.
P.S. with pro VOD reviews, tier 2 and 3 CS is very underrated for a player who is currently in low tier tournaments (such as myself).

well depends if u wanna be casual or competitive, some people take 20 years to get good others take 1 i guess
playing the game alone between from 2014-2021 i got from gold nova to DMG
playing 2021-2023 and actually training for 2 years, I went from DMG to global lvl 10 faceit who can beat 4k faceit elo players in esea.
it's almost as if practising makes you better, it's true for everything else in the world Counter Strike is NOT an exception
in that case, do you know what fnatic exec on inferno A is?
do you know liquid inferno A pistol strat?
do you know the common angles?
can you recognise one ways and pre-fire it on protocol?
do you know the map protocols?
do you know the purpose of mirage window player on CT side?
why do we want a player in connector on mirage?
do you know what parts of the map on all maps are CTs and Ts based on spawn timings and what parts of the map are "contested" for control?
do you know Gambit ramp smoke on vertigo?
do you know tabsen banana take on inferno?
do you know furia one way on banana?
do you know fallen flash for banana?
do you know all the mirage window insta smokes? (there's 9 of them)
do you know all red room insta smokes on ancient? (there's 5 of them)
do you know path timings for all maps?
how often do you whiff shots? muscle memory training will reduce the number of times even if it's from 1 in 20 down to 1 in 100 (which is a big difference by the way, 5% chance to whiff down to 1% chance)
etc etc,
the point is, if anything here is answered with a no, going out your way to learn them also known as practising will instantly make you better.
This is all stuff you will never, ever learn just by PUGing.
Keeping in mind I come across lvl 10 faceits with over 5k hours who don't know what parts of the map are worth contesting (which is fundemental knowledge for that lvl on CS) and what is important to fight for to get a strategic advantage which is just ridiculous to me. I'm sure they have played the game for over a decade too.
