Hello there,

I am really sorry if our previous responses were irrelevant to your questions. As we previously wrote, Counter-Strike 2 is not available on Mac, but game developers are currently working on Mac version of the game. We appreciate your patience.

Makes sense. Linux CS2 wasn't available a few weeks ago and now it is.

有没有时间表呢,我们需要等待多长时间?
Not sure if I can believe this, they haven't made any official announcements to the public

Entirely believable. Csgo worked on mac, other valve games have mac support, cs2 pages say mac *currently* not supported implying future support. Why would it not be supported eventually

Skepticism man, currently can mean anything. I’m not the doomer PC guy who goes around finding any Mac forum just to tell how great my Windows PC is, I own an ARM Mac too. Ever since MacOS Catalina with 32-bit support dropped, there has been a huge purge in games especially from Valve even if it says it supports MacOS, CSGO and Dota 2 were literally the only 64-bit games left. Though it is definitely possible there can be a CS2 release that runs great. Remember, Dota 2 is one of the few games that utilises MoltenVK, allowing for Vulkan to run on top of Apple’s Metal API. We might just see the same thing on CS2 for Mac. Just keep in mind Valve’s uncertainty in CS2’s release on Mac really amplified echo-chambers everywhere.

True. Though, I wouldn’t rely on Valve’s conscious communication, considering how they handled their cs2 release and total removal of csgo. This fact aside, they’ve already wrote that cs2 is not available for Mac at THIS time and now support saying developers are working on the version for Mac (don’t forget the relation between valve and steam) makes me think it’s true. I don’t believe in totally silent kill of cs for Mac, especially that Thai makes no sense.

Exciting news if it's truly on the horizon. Though, I'm a bit skeptical about its optimization right out of the gate. Still, every journey begins with a single step!

You're probably right about the optimization. I ran CS2 through Crossover and it was playable for me. There were some glitches and I had to lower some graphics to medium. But that was a game made for Windows, emulated through windows libs on Mac OS for which this version was not made. The version that Vavle will release will definitely perform better because they will optimize it specifically for Mac OS. So this doesn't really bother me, I am sure it'll be alright. Better have unoptimized CS2 for Mac then no CS2 at all :D

It's nice how Steam forced an update to CS2 from CS:GO on Mac Users while they had no Mac version available.

You can use the csgo_demo_viewer beta branch to go to the last version that was called CS:GO
