Possible fix for crashing/freezes on NVIDIA cards
TLDR: Open Nvidia control panel, go to help, turn debug mode on.

TLDR+: I am told this disables factory over clocks. Which per the link below seems like it might cause issues.

Disclaimer: I am not smart. I just used google and event viewer. I am not responsible for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I can't help you if it doesn't work. Good luck.

Per event viewer I was getting the following error:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\00000241
Error occurred on GPUID: 100

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did some perusing on nvlddmkm not being found and came across:

"Hi SamS_98

Do you by any chance have a factory overclocked gpu? I have an Inno 3D card which is factory OC.

For me the only solution (workaround really) that has worked and I am now having this for over 2 years is the following:

Open the NVIDIA control panel (usually located next to the clock in your system tray, bottom right)

Click on "Help" in the top row and click "Debug mode"

What this does, it downclocks your card to the founders edition specs. You would have to enable this every time after a reboot.

The reasoning I have found for this is that ever since one of the driver/windows updates, most games are unable to handle the factory OC cards and will crash after a while. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 1 hour."

For me personally my game just freezes and I have to use task manager to close the game. O cam still hear things happening but my frame counter drops to 10 and everything is locked up visually.
