volume going down automatically?

Is there an options or way to disable the volumen going down every time i change the game to background?

^Look for "More settings" in the Sound settings and that will open a new audio settings window than you check in the "communication" tab(the last tab) and select the last option so it doesn't lower your volume when you use a mic.

I think the default is 80% and sometimes a bug happens when you use a mic your overal sound in windows is permanently lowered for 80%

Uhm you mean the sound of the game?

If so, CS2 > settings > Audio > "Play audio when game in background"
Chose Yes and the audio will keep playing when you alt tab out of the game

I have it in YES. is weird. every time i shift+tab into the game, windows lowers the pc sound to 50% (or less, i can't see the volume of windows in fullscreen.). if i tab out out cs2 it goes back to the original 100%.

the first time it happend i did't notice that cs lowered my volume and i put my interface volume knob at max, when i shif+tab out of the game my ears got destoyed by the background game sound.

I did't had that problem with csgo, so is probably some setting somewhere ingame that does that.

Hello my guy! I had this problem because i tried to install some sound software for 1 jack headphones with microphone.. and in my endeavor I installed lots of stupid apps and drivers trying to make them work.. but it was a jack mother thing. For me it worked at SYSTEM>SOUND>MORE SOUND SETTINGS> and in the PLAYBACK TAB I ENABLED AND DISABLE THINGS !!! CS2 was open.. i did a thing than alttab.. thing is now it really works.. volume is up BUT .. when i go ALTTAB the sound icon on bottom right shows the sound going 2 bars lower.. but the cs2 sound is not actually, it's loud, so yeah... maybe try at PLAYBACK TAB > DEVICE DIGITAL OUTPUT TO BE ENABLED ! LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS !!

Sorry for the ultra late response. what i did is just reset System=sound=volume mixer at the bottom just reset it and every game has now full volume from whatever music and never lowers it back down. its perfect and smooth

I FIXED IT (for me...)

CS2 volume was always low for me since I came from CS:GO. All my Windows sound settings were ok: all the volume bars to 100%, no crazy equalizer settings, I even reinstalled my sound drivers 3 times to no avail...

Then I set the Windows Sound settings on my 2nd screen and started CS2 on my main screen. What did I see? Every time I opened CS2, my Windows Master Volume dropped to 24! I don't know why. Whenever I tabbed out of the game, the master volume would automatically go to 100 again.

With my keyboard shortcuts (Fn+F3, you might have different ones) I set the Windows master volume in-game to 100 again. Took me long enough...
