PENDING FUNDS

this use to happen here or there but i have literally been getting pending on every market sale i make.. is anyone else getting this? i mean every single transaction

Click on it or hovver over it, it’s usually when you have refunded an item or game and it stays like that for a while

lol what? i said market sales.. when i use the market.. to make a sale.. i havent refunded any games. im not asking for help im asking if this is happening to others.

Yea. Takes about 24 hours. Used to be sporadic but now it is with every sale, even if the prices are at standard market values.

Same for me and my friends.. if you sell something to buy a case in cs for example you can't buy it because your funds goes pending for like 2 days..

when you add funds to your wallet that money isnt technically there instantly, the credit card company has to verify the "sale" and actually give the money to steam, thats why if you add funds, buy a key, and open a crate, that item isnt tradable for some time, because steam still doesnt actually have the money from you yet. same thing when someone buys an item from you, their funds havent actually gotten to steam yet.

imagine the headache if someone bought like 400 keys and crates, unboxed those items, sold them all for dirt cheap, and then the buyers of all the items quick sold them or used for tradeups and sold that item, etc. and then the original guy called up their bank and said "it wasnt me charge it back" now almost 1000 people's inventories would be affected.

what would happen if someone bought an item on steam marketplace for a tradeup, sold the tradeup item to buy a key and unboxed a knife, then the original dude called up his bank and said the charge was fraud? how pissed would that guy be if his knife just gets deleted because someone he doesnt even know chargebacked the funds used to get the item?

so steam puts a "pending" until the money actually goes through.

From what I remember the pending is only in case of people who do not have mobile Steam thingy, but ordered an item, or bought it. So even if you have the mobile thingy, if that buyer doesn't then you will have money pending.

Edit: Seems like a necro thread. I did not necro it. But anyways I think my comment will be useful to those who are confused about it.
