Cheaters in CS2 and Valve's Anti-Cheat
This is very annoying and I am heartbroken.

I have loved the counter Strike series since I was in High School (2015). With cheaters in CS:GO being a huge issue and now seeing it in CS2 with Valve's "AI Anti-Cheat", I am utterly disgusted.

Last Night, after a hard days work from 8 am - 6 m I wanted to platy some competitive games with a few friends. Now that you have to get 10 wins on each competitive map, this is going to be a grind for us. Even more now that we are all out of college and have real jobs, to is hard to play more than 3 games a night. Two out of the Three matches we played last night had at least 1 cheater in the game. Being so utterly blatant; pre-firing everything, hitting one taps through walls and smoke, and on top of that, when we called them out on cheating, they got extremely racist and making homophobic comments.

Why can't Valve own up and finally create a good anti-cheat? Maybe one like their main competitor Valorant has. If Valve makes a downloadable anti-cheat, it would most likely reduce a lot of cheaters, or at the very least discourage cheaters from cheating. Now, I know Valorant also has cheaters, but the ratio of players and cheaters is slim compared so Counter Strike's player base. Maybe Valve should be IP/Hardware BANNING cheaters from just buying a new account and cheating on an alt.

Another topic I'd like to discuss is their Trust Factor. I think this is the dumbest thing they could have ever done. New players instantly going into low trust just because their Steam account is new and they're new to PC gaming. What if they wanted to play CS2 for the first time on their brand new PC and just created a Steam account? Now they are automatically in Low Trust playing against a bunch of cheaters, discouraged from ever playing CS2 again and missing the chance to join a great community.

Please Valve, we aren't asking for a lot here. I've seen $0.50 games with anti-cheats that actually work. Just please do us 2 things: Get an incredible Anti-Cheat in which you have to download it onto the player's PC. We all know you have the funds to do so since you are a Multi-Billion dollar Company. The other is to entirely get rid of Trust Factor.

Thank you for your time in reading this post.

Sincerely,
VinGuy

1. I agree with you on the trustfactor system, it is abused and punish greater players and put them into the same boat as the cheaters! :Steamfacepalm:

2. Ip/hardware ban is just straight out stupid, the internet got a limited ip adresses and it will just take two seconds to change both ip and hardware id by spoofing it !
What Valve could do to limit the chance of returning cheaters, is to requirer personal informations from Steam users, same info that I need to fill in anyways to buy a game here on Steam, that will limit the amount of fake accounts that is abused for Ai and limit the amount of cheaters that are able to return to the game again !

3. I dont think it would be a good idea if the anticheat was downloaded to people´s pc´s do to privacy reasons and do to the chance of it to get exploit ..

But what i think would be a great idea is to build it into the gameclient itself, that way you will not be able to overrule the anticheat solution and it will be alot easyer to do deep scans of the players pc in the hunt for cheat code´s on their machines, if people want to play competitive against other humans, then their going to agree that their systems are hardtime scanned to make sure their not cheating in the games their playing !

All with common sense would agree on thous 3 answers, the only ones that do not like this is people who got something to hide, Valve dont care about how much midget sex you are watching daily or how you look on your naked pictures, so the anticheat solution should only be active for as long the game is running and not all time as a seperate anticheat solution, that is why it should be build into the game as part of the gameclient & direct access to the vacnet so people cannot join a server if the game client is manipulated with !

I agree, there is to many hackers and cheaters in counterstrike 2 and there is way to many bugs and glitches for my machine to run it .. here last night i had a purple vision when i was trying to scope with the awp ... so the game got to many coding bugs & glitches for it to be made public ! :steamfacepalm:

Alright OP. Do tell, what would this good anticheat look like? How would you go about making it?

One that works... I am not a coder but Valve has enough funds to hire professional coders to guarantee a better solution than what we have now.

You can't compare a game with low playerbase and low renown to CS2.
The greater a playerbase & higher the renown of a game is, the more ppl will work on developing cheats.

anyways I get your point.
I heard about a massive ban wave not sure if it is true or not. Maybe Valve is still holding out on purpose.. I mean CS2 Cheaters are even Livestreaming their cheat software.

I am heartbroken aswell.

Yea I've seen a YouTuber "NoHyper" going live nearly every day and he is using cheats in CS2 trying to get banned and he never does. He even goes instantly blatant trying to get banned on purpose and still the crappy AI Anti-Cheat doesn't detect him somehow.

CS2 is not a safe game to be played right now, Valve even disabled replay so we can't watch sus POV.

Why don't you and your friend play face it instead?

We might end up doing that to be honest. At least it'll be rare to see a cheater on FaceIt. We just wanted to get our ranks for comp maps and premier but its difficult with these cheaters.

Ah yes the glorious and ever helpful "just fix it"! Why haven't valve thought about that excellent completely useless idea?

If there was an easy fix, it would've been implemented already.

Or better yet, pick up one of those.50cent games and play them with their unstoppable anticheat.

Riot Vanguard, sure there will prob never be 100% effective anti-cheat but its miles better vs vac
Stoque Oct 6, 2023 @ 8:14am
The easiest way to remove cheaters is to remove the incentive to cheat. Stop rewarding players who win matches, remove the level progression system, and remove skins and agents so nobody bets on them.

You mean the game that within the first couple of hours of release had cheaters in it? Yea. Good choice!

I want a man, in a suit, with a briefcase and a Glock standing behind every player just waiting for them to turn on a cheat.
BILInek Oct 6, 2023 @ 8:34am
The only way to fix it is to make log in to the game using your PERSONAL DATA! if oyu get banned it is forever as you can not use you ID twice period. then cheaters with have some respect.
