Why no 20 year badges?
I got Steam the 1st day it came out. I played CS 1.6, and CS Source. I bought CS:GO when it was released and didn't play much. Is there no way to tell when the player began playing CS? Would be nice to have some kind of item to show old school player.

The 20 year Veteran coin won't happen until at least 2028, if Valve adds them.

Do you not remember the WON ID days, prior to Steam?

Actually I played a lot of 1.6 and Source. That time wasn't tracked is the issue. We had a very large CS community, ran a couple servers. The only reason why I got Steam on the 1st day was that I was playing CS. I did not play CS:GO, as I started playing TF2 and just burnt out from CS. I have 4000 hours in TF2 and feel like I had more CS hours.

Been playing some CS2 with guys I haven't played with for like 20 years. Not sure why people would accuse people of buying accounts based on a simple question. Dude, I'm retired and 53 years old. My 1st gaming console was pong, followed by Atari. I there was no Internet when I was high school.

Why would you ask this if you have barely any hours in CS2/GO? People would laugh at you on every server cuz you probably play like a bot.

Yeah, I've had to explain why I sucked and didn't know the map when on CS:GO in like 2021 when I tried to start playing it. When CS:GO initially released, I wasn't a fan of it. I gave up after about 3 hours. Gifted a copy of the game to a buddy who was a map maker, in order for him to recreate his map for CS:GO "de_cefalu_go". Didn't seem to take off though.

If there were 20 year badges for CS, I would have got mine in 2019.

Valve have some more important stuff to do right now, ask them later. You already has 20yrs steam badge, that's huge by itself but you want to flex some more? Just drop it.

You might've played it at some point, since hours were only introduced in 2009, but my point stands, since 2009 you didn't go back to these games for 14 years already. So for 14 years you abandoned these games and you want a 20 year old badge? Why? Where were you? Maybe ask for a tf2 badge instead, since that's where you are nowadays.

Fair. I guess I would have been better off saying it would be nice to have a 1.6 badge because the stuff in GO was tracked. I don't have any operation badges, etc. There are items in TF2 that show length of service.

To this I can agree, valve should 100% bring back the operation badges that show stats. If you check out my inventory you'll see some of the old operation badges like bravo, phoenix, breakout, etc. show certain stats such as when the badge was activated, and how many 3,4,5 kill rounds the user got both on standard and operation maps, I think some badges also show time played during the operation, and how many games. This way I find it to be the best as it actually shows the user was there at that time, will never understand why they took it away.

If they were going to do a 15 year coin, they would have until the end of this month to do it.

I don't expect a 15 year coin. 20, maybe. 25, probably.
