Why no 20 year badges?
I got Steam the 1st day it came out. I played CS 1.6, and CS Source. I bought CS:GO when it was released and didn't play much. Is there no way to tell when the player began playing CS? Would be nice to have some kind of item to show old school player.

Valve officially started counting/tracking time in 2008.

The 10 Year Veteran coin was release during the Dec 17, 2018 CS:GO update...

And the 5 year coin was released in 2013...

The 20 year Veteran coin won't happen until at least 2028, if Valve adds them.

Maybe they just havent released the medals yet, if im not wrong they distribute the medals in december or something

The 5 and 10 year medals are for CS:GO only, so why would the 20 year medal be for CS1.6?

Because it matters when you played a CS game for the first time. And valve didnt tracked that data since 20 years.

CS2 isn't CS:GO, and the badges and inventory carried over. I figure there is likely a way they could figure out time played. Likely at least for the people who got Steam early on, which has been 20 years.

Why would you ask this if you have barely any hours in CS2/GO? People would laugh at you on every server cuz you probably play like a bot.

As i already wrote. For the cs years coin you had to play a cs game xx years ago. 20 years ago isnt possible because valve didnt tracked that data 20 years ago

edit: didnt see hotsouce response when i wrote it

I saw the 20 years badge in some player , was he cheating then? I think it was silver gold with 20 number on it

I thought its normal.

Unless I am imagining things

The Steam years of service badge is not a CS Veteran coin.

Pretty sure OP just wants a participation award or some clown awards. I mean he doesn't play these games anyways. He has 0 minutes in 1.6, 10 minutes in CSS and 77 hours in csgo/cs2. He just wants a badge to show off, not that he earned it for a good reason. Like his dedication to these games is 0.
