Lots of people care for a number of reasons not only limited to mine.
Well, this is a gripe I had since like 3 months ago when they decided to change that... It's just more noticeably annoying over time. That's a personal gripe of mine of CS:GO.
Regarding CS2, though... I'm actually worried about the absurd amount of things I can no longer do overall since the transition alone, gameplay or otherwise.
Huh... How is it wrong (honest question)? I haven't seen the cases have any fluctuation or rise in value aside from just a few days ago when CS2 launched (if that's the approach you meant). Granted, I don't know much about investments, so I'd be glad to hear your suggestions/observations.
