The usual joke. Players who used free cheats or cheats they thought were safe come complain on the Forums, making other players believe Valve is that good. Nah man. The truth is most banned players get banned for using free cheats. For every thread you read of people crying about a ban, there's probably an youtube video of a kid with +5yo accounts with premium cheats that feel no shame or insecurity in doing so.
There probably was a ban wave, and there's probably quite a few players banned everyday, but most of them are free software users.

its definately banning a lot...
but that doesnt restore any of the played matches
imagine being a 5 stack of cheater rats and still almost loosing to legit players. fkn rats.
A shame.
I've said a few months ago that there would come a time where CS could not be enjoyed without cheats - still not quite there, but give it a little longer. I've seen a recent video about CS2 cheats that had so many 'premium cheat publishers' I can't even remember half. I remember back in Source where the only options I've ever heard and remember were axmware and iniuria. Now it's insanity - and I don't even wanna research prices. Recently saw Faceit accounts get sold for as cheap as 30cent, I don't even wanna know how cheap cheats can get nowadays
because if 99% of games are cheated id just build a friendslist of clean players, rent a server and play it that way.
thats how all pros still play today.
thats how we always played in 1.6.
♥♥♥♥ cheaters.
we love cs.
pros arent cheating at all btw.
ive played some in go and cs2. theyre winnable. theyre not cheating.
its just you loosers cheating.
gtfo rats.
1- Players who are in the same lobby as convicted cheaters get a punishment too.
2- Red trust factor is still functional
3- Vac Live is working and I have witnessed it several times.
4- According to leetify, players are getting banned.
5- Competitive cooldowns are in effect.
6- Do not compare CS2 which is newly released with a brand new Anti-cheat system to any other game. Valorant had a cheating problem too. And still does.
I am not saying the game is perfect but in reality, The game is fun. I have not faced a lot of cheaters during my 35 matches probably 3-5 (MEA region). I am sick of people complaining and still continuing to play the game.
Look at the updates, look at the patch notes and you'll realize that the game is being fixed in various ways.
Valve is working on tightening the pathway of cheaters being able to cheat on the game.

^ yeah that doesnt work.
"Valve is working on tightening the pathway of cheaters being able to cheat on the game."
its the same codebase as csgo was. >nothing was tightened
Maybe it's something I learned from Source, but the form of competition is different. The goal was to have fun as much as it was to win, something I took to GO/2. GO completely changed that, the form of competition is very different - private / community servers can never be as competitive as 'public' ones, imo. GO also showed us how playing against different people with different traits is a way to keep the interest in a game that doesn't have the magic that Source and 1.6 had, but also a way to slowly lose IQ.
Source and 1.6 were a different world, generation. A balance between competition, fun, visual appealing and game mechanics. The VIP mode, assault, community server magic and union - thanks for reminding me of better times.
I also like the idea of popflash / scrims, but I don't like 1. competing vs friends 2. always playing against the same guys - as there comes a time where you can't teach each other nothing new. GO showed us that it's better to 'beat' on people you don't know other than friends / acquaintances, lmao!
