Remote Host Closed Connection

My CS2 continues to say that the remote host closed the connection when I get into a ranked game, after about half a round. I cannot reconnect to the game after it does this and I get a ban. I have been banned 3 times for it. Anyone else having this issue/know how to fix it?

I'm getting the same error, but not banned. It seems to be after about 2 or 3 minutes - intense lag and then the game closes with no reason given at all. I have no idea what's going on, but it's essentially unplayable...

The workaround was to turn all the graphics settings (including resolution) down and then change it back after connecting, but as Inferno was updated to become less optimized, it no longer works. The 2nd largest map by file size, Ancient, still works for me.

A very peculiar update on the situation, for me atleast.
Putting the game in exclusive fullscreen instead of bordlerless window somehow makes it so I don't get kicked out after the lag spike. I don't need to set my graphics or resolution down anymore.

As to why I haven't thought of that sooner is anyone's guess, but if you can't get through the lag with fullscreen, prep your game with something absurdly low as 200x200 windowed resolution prior to joining (put -h 200 -w 200 as launch options for that) and then obviously change it back once you're clear.

- Simply not talking. (lol)
The voice chat was the reason I was having this bug happening to me, sent an email to valve to try to fix this but see if this is also your solution to this problem

Try reinstalling the game, worked for me. Talking is a must otherwise you might aswell play offline with bots.

ok, so I'm having this quite often, doesn't matter I'm playing faceit or premier, even casual matches. It starting to freeze my screen and then follows the error " the remote host closed the connection" nothing works for me, tried to reinstall the game several times, I've also played with different graphics choices, my PC is high end actually a new one..

Same problem, guys. Since the release of the game, I still can’t log into the server, it simply won’t let me out, and if it lets me in, it kicks me out within a few seconds. It's funny, because the game itself works well for me, I can play with bots offline, but I can't log into any server, not even the community server.

This just started happening to me, happens in other games too, like tf2, I get a similar error. But cs2 is the most annoying cause it will happen in the middle of a good buy round... plz fix valve

I have literally the same problem since the last cs2 and windows update combined (updated both yesterday). I can go back to the previous version of windows, but not to the previous version of the game. It says I have 20-30 ping, but realistically feels like at LEAST 1000 (shooting a chicken in deadmatch takes even 3 seconds to register sometimes). I can not move and shoot without 2s latency, but the sounds are actually without problem. It is so bad that whatever I try yo launch, (deadmatch, compet) it just then closes the connection on me or keeps me stuck at place with sounds alright, but only one frame on.
I have heard that this is often associated with amd gpus, but seriously valve. If you release cs2, at least make it so I can actually play the game more then two weeks every 2 moths before you release some other patch that just ♥♥♥♥♥ everything up again.
Simple said it right. "What is the problem? Seriously Valve?". At least let me play the old good old reliable csgo for christ sake. My experience with cs2 is even worse and more painful then going on a 10 ranked lose streak in lol (hurts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ a lot, 8 hours wasted for refference) every day.

Update: Reinstalling seems to have fixed it so far after playing a couple games. If it happens again, I will update.

This started happening to me a couple days ago (I don't play often) and I will update if reinstalling fixes it for me, (all my drivers are up to date, including windows) or if I find another solution. Recently I have gotten about 2-3 dc's per premier comp games, with some sporadic lag which is uncommon. I have very good internet that isn't in question here. Either it's a server issue or something else I am not sure.
