If you're using 2020 hardware and it's unplayable maybe it needs optimization and we can look at what settings you're using too, but lets see what you're using first. CSGO needed an update, it was 11 years old.
For reference, the gap between 1.6 to source was less than a year, and the gap between source to csgo was 8 years. So this has been the longest they've gone without a big update. It was needed.
I have 2020 laptop cpu, and i have to play on 4:3 stretched resolution with lowest settings to have it playable.

(dont test in deathmatch, dm is like 50% fps with drops)
