CS2: The big box of crap review

CSGO was by far not perfect, and had quite a few issues that CS2 was supposed to fix, which it didn't and only brought in more of them.

Issue #1 - The game plays like dog crap and the bullet reg is worse than ever. It's not just my opinion btw, Skip to 5:58 for the "good" news: https://youtu.be/7e56RprYANA?si=lbZKAHmyUI8STOyt&t=358

Issue #2 - You get to choose from even fewer maps (in casual) than ever before, and if you like to play hostage rescue you get 2 maps, and that's it! The CS betas had more maps guys, are you stupid? Why split them up at all if there's barely any to choose from?

Issue #3 - The CSGO achievements are gone, and replaced with nothing. Remember all those things you worked hard for all those years? Well forget about them, they didn't matter, and you had no choice in whether you got to keep them or not. Basically, Valve said: "Suck it."

Issue #4 - The console is garbage and worthless now. Ever want to immediately see how many hits and how much damage you did (or didn't do) to enemies and how much they did to you? Well, you use to be able to, for the last 20+ years. Screw all that now, nothing you want matters.

Issue #5 - The Killcam isn't available anymore. Well, I know this was a new feature to CSGO, and I never knew I wanted it until I had it, when it became a priceless tool for pinpointing where death was coming from, while exposing cheaters to me with it's unmistakable gaze. Was this a handy feature for you? Well tough crap for you, because Valve didn't feel like including this anymore. Along with Overwatch being gone, identifying and reporting cheaters doesn't matter, so just deal with it.

Issue #6 - A lot of skins look way different now, with many of them actually looking like poop. Did you spend decent money on a skin because you liked the way it looked? Well hopefully you picked the right ones, because many of your favorites could now be ones you never would've considered buying based on how cartoony they look now.

Certainly I will find more issues as time goes on, but these are enough for now, plus I'm tired of typing.

Yeah, maybe my skins are not that expensive and a lot are hot garbage. However I myself saw that they changed how skins condition works. Skins that were "field tested" or worse used to look waaay better in CSGO 1 than they do now. A lot of them barely have any paint now.

Someone with a knife that is that case hardened mostly blue titanium? That is closer to what it looks like IRL than what it looked like in csgo..

I don't care about achievements that I already earned. It's not like they're rare Pokémon cards.

I just saw a Leaded Glass M4A1S, and boy did it look bad... Otherwise, my USP-S has weird glare to it and the model looks nothing like the standard model, my one pair of gloves has an entirely different color going on, and all of my case hardened look cartoonish. I can't think of anything that actually looks good, but maybe it's because I've had to put my settings into the toilet just to make this game run with MINIMAL stutter. In case you're wondering, my machine specs are:

MSI RTX 4070
12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700KF - That's 12 cores @ 3.60 GHz
MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI LGA 1700

That is truly misterious why your specs would handle game bad to the point you need downgrade setting... But then again, I often see this kind of issues with newer hardware in games. Sometimes drivers/games are simply yet to become more compatible and its just the matter of time when it will become stable.

Agree with just about all the points here. I'm not big on skins to begin with but I agree they don't look good. I really wish they would bring back Arms Race and the other gamemodes other than death match since that's what I played the most before a comp match.

I've done everything I can on my end to improve this gaping hole they call hit reg, and even with having the most up to date home network, great internet connection, and beast of a PC, this dog crap of a game will only count about 1/3 of my hits, and boy do I want to tell Valve just how far they can shove this POS back up into the craphole they dumped it out of. What a waste of time this has been.

Yup. I came to the same conclusion after 10h of playing this crap. Its just easier to spray around the model, than actually aim. Running and gunning is OP now. Same with shotguns. Everything tied to Sub tick or whatever latency compensation they introduced in Cs2, which is just broken. Unless they made hitboxes 10x bigger than models.

From my point of view everything what was good in cs:g was basically destroyed in cs2. Sorry to say but Valve is simply going down.

I just had a thought about why Killcam isn't in the game anymore, but imagine how terrible it would look now from your enemy's perspective, right? You might just be standing there doing nothing, maybe your gun could actually be firing (with muzzle flash, et all) with no bullets coming out, the tracers are going away from the enemy, or you're in a completely different position than it shows you to be, and that would be even more embarrassing for Valve, so it's better they don't even show it to you, because it's just even more bad news.

Some people are comparing CS2 to CSGO's release, and how it needed time to improve, but I remember CSGO at least being playable. Sure CSGO needed some polish and added features, but it wasn't broken af on release, and it didn't erase CS:S or 1.6 from existence.
