A Few Questions for AWP Gun Users
Hello, There are many things I don't understand. I won't ask them all for now. But these are the first things I wonder about.

1) Why do people using AWP guns quickly turn left and right or make a circular motion after shooting?

2) Again, why do AWP gun users immediately switch to another gun after shooting and then return to the AWP gun?

3) Is there any benefit to momentary crouching when using an AWP gun?

4) And is there such a thing as lead lag? So, should you shoot towards a moving target or should you shoot directly at the target?

3. no, crouch awp peeks are a noob thing.
4. always directly on target.

dont really think too much about it, playing awp in this game is the same as rushing b with a p90, the game is broken

Well, seeing the targets approaching while using this gun makes me nervous and I get rid of the AWP gun and immediately get another gun. Is this wrong in close contact or should I accustom myself to close contact with an AWP gun?

dont play awp then.
too many noobs play awp.
a team cant have 5 awp players.
if u get one ask your team who wants it. usually the middle topspawn always could use one.

You are right. It was something I was curious about. So, what kind of actions can increase our chances of getting rid of an AWP target? Running and crouching do not save you from being a target. Should I move left and right like crazy? Because some people do that. Does it do any good? So what makes the goal difficult? Maybe Jumping?

1. Same reason people move their crosshair like that when using a rifle. It's easier to transfer and track from one target to another when your crosshair is already in motion as opposed to starting to aim from completely stopped. You see a lot of pro players that constantly move their crosshair/flick back and forth between angles.

2. This is more of a personal preference type thing that people have developed over the years since the early days of CS. In older versions of CS (1.3, 1.5, 1.6) switching from your awp to your knife and back to your awp again used to be faster than letting the animation finish. That is no longer the case but people still do it because of habit.

3. No there is no benefit.

4. Always directly at the target. CS has always been a hitscan game. The most important thing is that you are standing still when you shoot. Most people fire the gun before their player animation has completely stopped. This leads to shots not landing on target.

I'll probably never be a good AWP user. At least I don't want to be an easy target for those who use this weapon. But I can't do this either. I usually jump. But I guess it doesn't help much. Against a distant awp player I can't do anything other than get closer to him. I can't get rid of his threat without getting close to him.

Depends, if you're awping the best thing you can do is practice your aim and reaction time when peeking. A lot of people wide peek or slide peek because it throws people off and the movement in CSGO/CS2 is wonky. Other than that it just comes down to reaction time, movement and holding angles.

If you are using a rifle and trying to take out an awper, the best thing you can do is perfect counter-strafing. Using A, D, A, D and ensuring that you are completely stopped before tapfiring for the head or burst firing if you're proficient. The most important thing to get down is timing the stop of your character perfectly before firing the rifle. This ensures absolute accuracy when firing, then it is only down to your aim.

This was really helpful, thank you.

playing awp is mostly about positioning and knowing where to peak and how and what angle to hold, the gun requires significantly less aim then for example the ak or deagle because you have a zoom and only need to hit the body but aim still helps of course.

im not comparing the awp to weapons like the p90 here because pros dont really play those

Never jump against an awper, it slows you down and by the time you reposition and aim, he will get another shot off. Maybe 5% of counter awper situations will be useful to jump as a surprise tactic. Otherwise it's not good.
