How to launch CSGO on macOS

Hey guys, if you want to play CSGO on macOS (unfortunately community servers only), you may try the steps below.

1. Right-click on Counter-Strike 2 in your Steam library, and select Properties -> Betas
   
2. Select csgo_demo_viewer - 1.38.7.9 for Beta Participation
   
3. CSGO game files should now be downloaded, just wait
   
4. Open Terminal, and type in the following command to create a CSGO launcher (shown as csgo or csgo.app) on your desktop:

   mkdir -p ~/Desktop/csgo.app/Contents/MacOS && cd "$_" && printf '#!/usr/bin/env bash\nbash ~/Library/Application\\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike\\ Global\\ Offensive/csgo.sh -steam "$@"' > csgo && chmod +x csgo && echo -n 'APPL????' > ../PkgInfo && echo 'OK'

5. Move the CSGO launcher to anywhere you like
   
6. Select Add Game -> Add a Non-Steam Game -> Browse, and find the CSGO launcher
   
7. The CSGO launcher (shown as csgo) should now in your library for easier access
   
8. Right-click on csgo you just added, and select Properties
   
9. You may edit the display name and any launch options for CSGO

Now you should be able to launch CSGO.

You can launch it, but it doesn't work. Can't join servers, can't actually play.

EDIT: just to clarify, at this time CS:GO launches but aside from saying it's insecure (aka community servers only) it also says the actual game won't start as it detects it needs an update.
I'm guessing someone noticed people actually starting CS:GO and excluded the binary signature from joining anything.

The reason that you see it's insecure is missing -steam as a launch option. The solution I posted includes it so you can connect to VAC secured community servers.
