Is CS noob friendly ?
Hi,
I only played CS back when I was young, I believed it was 1.6 or something like that, years ago. I remembered CS beeing quite tough to learn as unlike Medal of Honor, or Call of Duty, you can't aim, and it's all fast.
I only recently started thinking of CS with the release of 2.0 but since I'm now an old boomer, I wonder if new player stand a chance, or, like League of Legend, you first have to endure hours of beeing crap

Yes.

You’ll get dogged on for probably quite a while as you adjust to the game. There are helpful settings now for learning stuff like recoil control with the follow recoil crosshairs setting though.

I highly recommend trying to play competitive on one map over and over until you are used to it and can just focus on aiming better. Premier competitive will put you in any of the 7 competitive maps which then you will be confused on the map and trying to focus on improving aim which will just be frustrating.

Ok ignore what the guy above me said. Dont EVER play competitive, there is literally no fun or anything good in competitive lobbys under any circumstance. Competitive lobbys are always one quarter hackers who will insult you in your language, one quarter russians who dont speak english and insult you in russian, one quarter squeakers who never contribute, and one quarter furrys who talk openly about their favorite size animal dildos for some god forsaken reason. Does that sound fun to you? Because thats every competitive lobby, just dont. Play casual game modes, deathmatch arms race (when it comes out), and community servers running custom maps and game modes. (also not functional yet ♥♥♥♥ this game) Community servers especially, thats really where all my fond memories with source games come from, just browsing weird servers with friends quoting memes and being ♥♥♥♥ at weird custom game modes and custom maps. Dont play CS2 yet, give it a few months, and never play competitive.

It's a competitive game at it's core. You mentioned League, it's the same concept: you first have to get used to the mechanics, basic strategies, economy and so on before you can get a fighting chance.
The only way it could be noob friendly is due to skill based matchmaking, which (allegedly) will put you with and against people of your own skill (meaning if you're a noob, you'll play with other noobs).
If you want a "casual" experience, this isn't the game for that. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it even in the lower ranks, of course.

Nah, even at the lowest ranks people will headshot you in .2 seconds of seeing you, they need to nerf peoples skill in this game.

Absolutely not. This is one of the worst communities I've even been in lol.

Ok ok ok ok OP, PLEASE ignore this dumb dumb. You can have great fun in any counter strike game (except CS2 for now) without ever touching a competitive lobby. Just wait a bit for community servers to flourish in CS2 and your golden. Remember OP, repeat this after me out loud and never forget it. "Competitive counter strike is for people who eat poop". The true counter strike experience is a player owned server with 50 different plugins, on an unoffical map with waifu sprays all over the walls. Thats counter strike.

It depends on what you are expecting. If you want CS2 as a way to relax and entertain after a long day at work, you are gonna get disappointed.

You could start out with trying Deathmatch or Casual, and steer clear of Premier and Competitive for a while.

Ok ok ok ok OP, PLEASE ignore this dumb dumb. He is a weeb and has no idea what he is talking about, it is not worth your time to install a ♥♥♥♥ ton of plugins to pretend this is a game that it's not, there are much better games and wasting your time with this one aint it.

I've installed Counter Strike Global Offensive recently because of the CS 2 hype and honestly I enjoyed it more than CS 2, I do like the new graphics in CS 2 but aside from the graphics the rest is inferior to Global Offensive in my opinion. The movement in Global Offensive is just so very smooth compared to CS 2. If you're new to First Person Shooter I think you would have a hardtime in the game even with Prime, if you want a balanced matchmaking you can try Valorant, not kidding, it's not that bad compared to how hardcore CS fans portray it, there are some smurfs but it's better compared to cheaters in CS 2, once you get used to shooting you can comeback to CS 2, both are good game and it doesn't matter what other says, what's important is you're playing what you want to play not other people wants you to play. If you ask me which game is better then that would be 100% CS, no diff, but only if there are no cheaters because it ruins the experience, if Valve can fix their broken Anti-Cheat then CS would be the best First person shooter game, but right now though Valorant might just be a bit better than CS 2 only because of their anti cheat.

have started playing cs again like 1 year ago (im 42 yrs old now). i have played like 150 hours so so since then. and skill wise i think i am just a bit better than the worst players (guessing like lower 10%). im still having fun cause i play with a buddy of mine and with proper matchmaking we win like 60% of the time. solo by myself i would be bored out of my mind cause i'd spend like 80% of my time being dead spectating the remaining players.

you should just download it it (it doesnt cost anything) and give it a whirl. expect the worst however and you wont be disappointed.

It is definitely not, due to community changed a lot since CS 1.6.
It is highly recommended to play with friends and also practice before getting into competitive gamemodes if you're a new player.

Enjoy listening to furries talking about buttsex in between squeakers and hackers yelling incomprehensible gibberish at you. Competitive is and always will be niche compared to the true counter strike experience of community server shenanigans with friends. CS is, at its core a casual game just for killing time with friends, and competitive lobbys were always an afterthought and didnt really exist much until CS GO, and still dont matter to this day lmao.

It's free, should try it out it's alittle different from CS-1.6 & CS-GO you might like it.

Make sure you got a beast of a computer though they overhauled the graphics.
