Terrible audio delay

CS2 Has terrible audio delay, my spec are 3080ti ryzen r9 5950x RIP steam.

Edit: The only fix we have found so far is to switch the audio source to default then back to your normal source. This should temp fix the issue without the need for a restart.

I have an audio delay like ... building up. At the beginning it is fine, but after some (more) rounds the delay gets more and more like 1-2 seconds before any audio is played. Doesn't matter if voice, weapon switch, enemy fire, own fire, ... Sucks hard and is not fun at all to play like that >:(

same here my game starts fine but then over time it gets more and more delayed.

I think I fixed it! In the audio menu in CS2, instead of putting it to use the default audio device, change it to your main audio device (Ex: HyperX Cloud 2)

I know a similiar issue with a diff Game. What Ram do you have?

I've done that before and still after some time I'll get the delay back

Same here, let's not even talk about the sound quality which u can't even hear enemy steps properly

I'm hoping valve knows about this issue and can fix it by the weekend pretty unlikely but I'm hoping.

I made a topic about this too. I noted in mine that it fixes the issue if you switch audio devices. But, it goes back over time and gets worse over time. So, I have to do that pretty much every other round.

I am using and AMD GPU. Is that common among us all?

That only works for me for a short time. I have to do that probably every other round to fix the issue as it re-occurs.

I'm having this issue. Playing on Linux though, not Windows. I've got

-sdlaudiodriver pipewire

in my launch options right now because otherwise the sound wouldn't work at all.

I have a 4080 I'm wondering if it's sound card related or sound driver related

I'm on Nvidia GPU 3080ti so it's not brand specific. This has been an issue since July Beta I'm no longer holding my breath that Valve will do anything. It seems to be hardware or setting specific and it's not being seen widespread enough for them to look at. If I restart the game it runs fine for about 10 mins. After than it progressively gets more delayed to where I don't hear shots till almost 2 seconds after I shoot. Or the same when others shoot at me. It's all sounds as well not just shots, footsteps, knifing walls etc.

I'm also having the issue of sound desync over time. It is noticeable within the duration of a premier match and I have to restart my game as its annoying and puts me at a disadvantage.
