Thanks so much. I would believe what you write, but I decided not to buy a license of your opinion, because you can take it away from me anytime according to your TOS :)
You cant get your money back for a purchase you made a bazillion years ago
The Time before everyone had Internet and especially distributions Plattforms like Steam didn’t existed, you bought a game e.g. on a CD in a store. Some games that are older then 25 years, I still have in my shelf. I can install and play the game whenever I want. Start of CSS for me was not what I expected, but I was still able to play the previous bought game. After some time CSS got better and I adopted. The same happened to CS:GO I bought in 2012, firstly not my game, but I could stick to CSS, wait some time and adopt later. So what is the difference now? I purchased the game, not prime. That‘s something, that was introduced much later and not part of my contract. I‘m sure that CS2 will become a game I will adopt, but I‘m really disappointed, Valve!, that you didn‘t allow to play CS:GO in parallel at least for a certain amount of time.

You bought it because you thought it was worth the money at the time. Just because it went free to play, doesn't entitle you to any sort of refund. Especially not years later. CS:GO went free to play in 2018. Not last month, not last year. in 2018. Get over it.
Same. People calling OP an idiot and dumb when they aren't the ones who know that CSGO used to cost money is laughable at best. I don't really have a stake in this as I never played much CSGO and won't play CS 2 (not a big deathmatch fan) but I can see why people are mad considering many PAID for CSGO and now all their hours, achievements, and stats have been replaced. I know how I would feel if this happened in a game that I play a lot like Left 4 Dead 2.
I don‘t care for the money. I had a great time in CS:GO. But Valve now is doing the same ♥♥♥♥ as other big game companies. That makes me sad!
Same. I never bought prime. I bought the GAME back in 2012 or 2013 (I forget which year). I don't see how the gaming community can view this move by Valve as anything other than scummy. You just don't remove a game from someone's inventory to replace it with a completely new game and subsequently remove all their stats and stuff. This is more than an update - its a new game. Every other FPS that I can think of allowed people to play the older version when the new came out. Sure, most players switched, but at least there was still that option. Thankfully, I was never really much into CSGO, but I know how I'd feel if it was a game like Left 4 Dead 2 or Garry's Mod that I play a lot.
Why should I buy any game on Steam, if it might be taken away anytime?
SIDE NOTE. SHOUT OUT TO SCAMMING EVERY SINGLE ♥♥♥♥ MAC PLAYER BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TALENT TO UPDATE THE GAME TO PLAYABLE.
Unreal how Valve TM still exists. completely undeserving of the success it currently has.
It is discouraging to buy a digital product and it be removed or be post-humorously censored. One of the reasons why I only buy stuff when it drops in price.
