CS2 Not Compatible with MacOS
So I noticed there's a lot of posts and questions regarding CS2 on Mac devices, so I'm going to answer all the questions I've come across.

Valve has stopped supporting MacOS in CS2 and has so far made no comment on it. No one knows if they are working on releasing it on Mac or have just dropped it completely.

Nothing you try will allow you to run CS2 OFFICIALLY on a Mac device. I have tried verifying files, uninstalling and reinstalling, relaunching steam, and all the other usual methods, none of these work.

The only way to play CS2 on a Mac is to use an application or tool such as Apple Bootcamp or Parallel that allows you to launch Windows or Linux on your Mac.

Previously CS:GO displayed the little Apple logo that meant that Apple devices were compatible to play CS:GO, CS2 does not have this, and there is no MacOS section under supported devices.

All the Mac users (such as myself) who played CS:GO will either have to give up the game, find an alternative way to play it, or purchase a new device.

What Valve has done is stupid and lazy and they have just lost a large portion of the CS player base.

Valve should work on making CS2 available for MacOS, make a way to switch back CS:GO, as it is not only Mac users who are disappointed with CS2, or provide a refund to all those who now have skins that they can't play with.

Currently I'm installing Parallel to play CS2 so we'll see how that goes.

There was an OSX version during the beta and there's an OSX-marked depot on Steam, so only time will tell when the game will be natively available there.
i hope they release it

It's Valve. They never give any heads up. We're lucky it literally came out at the last second as summer was coming to an end.

вы абсолютно правы, но использование GeForceNow ощущается по-другому. вы все еще можете почувствовать задержку при использовании сторонних сервисов для игры в CSGO. очень обидно, что удалили его у пользователей Apple, не уведомив нас.

HOW TO PLAY CS/GO ON MAC

Go to the Steam Properties menu,
Choose Beta,
Select:
"csgo_demo_viewer- 1.38.7.9."

Now you can play CS/GO on Mac as before.

in that version u can only practice by urself there are no online servers for cs:go
Hey man, i am a mac player myself and i have been trying to find multiple ways to fix this issue like you have described and none have worked for myself either. However i have found the issue causing it and some ways around it without having to download parallels however something a little different.

First of all, going into CS game files I have found that the actual cs2.exe file is missing from its folder, and I have been trying to find mac players who have this file, so I can copy the file and place it where it belong, however i have came up empty handed.

Secondly those of you who are saying that Mac players will be left to rot, I highly disagree as mac players have been around for quite sometime and for them to suddenly cut them off is like destroying a tube of cash flow and is quite dumb of valve.

Thirdly who for those of you crying because you can not play csgo anymore it is still available to play through steam (not some dodgy alibaba website)
Here are the steps: Right Click Cs2-->properties-->click Betas-->Beta particpation-->CSGO Demo viewer 1.38.7.9. (then it will start a 12GB download and you should be able to play it)(Please note you won't have access to servers only "play with bots" and some workshop maps. I haven't tried to play with others in this demo viewer but please try it out and let me know)

Lastly I have found a video which shows how some youtuber played cs2 on mac, however a lot of comments say it is both glitchy and buggy and often crashes. Also note I haven't tried this and this could potentially damage your laptop. But the video is here if you don't care about the safety of your laptop - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_QfDyFaM7s&list=LL&index=5&t=52s

Thanks and stay safe

PS: I currently do not own a PC, console or switch and playing on Mac was my best option to playing games and I could possibly get a PC in the future but playing on Mac is my only solution for the time being

Makes sense to me. I know it sucks for <4% of you but I'm sure they feel justified in dropping support.

Exactly, I figured that was the case as a lot of developers don't even waste their time, money, or resources trying to support their products for Macs... it's not financially worth it. If you really want to PC game these days, you simply have to get a PC. Otherwise, it is what it is.

Oh, here we go again
"it's not financially worth it" - Why it supports Linux ?

CS:GO was an 11-year-old game that back then, I'm sure a lot more people played it on Mac. Times have changed and I can totally see Valve keeping it Windows-only if 95 percent or more play the game that way. Might not be worth the time, money, or resources to have it on Mac if it's not worth it for such a small amount of gamers.

Do you have stats on platforms CS gamers use ?
Steam not equal CS

Linux market share on STEAM has actually overtaken macOS when combining all distros, including Steam Deck/SteamOS.

But this situation is for sure not due to market percentages.

Correct. Just not at launch, like the faq stated.
