It's Valve. They never give any heads up. We're lucky it literally came out at the last second as summer was coming to an end.
Go to the Steam Properties menu,
Choose Beta,
Select:
"csgo_demo_viewer- 1.38.7.9."
Now you can play CS/GO on Mac as before.
First of all, going into CS game files I have found that the actual cs2.exe file is missing from its folder, and I have been trying to find mac players who have this file, so I can copy the file and place it where it belong, however i have came up empty handed.
Secondly those of you who are saying that Mac players will be left to rot, I highly disagree as mac players have been around for quite sometime and for them to suddenly cut them off is like destroying a tube of cash flow and is quite dumb of valve.
Thirdly who for those of you crying because you can not play csgo anymore it is still available to play through steam (not some dodgy alibaba website)
Here are the steps: Right Click Cs2-->properties-->click Betas-->Beta particpation-->CSGO Demo viewer 1.38.7.9. (then it will start a 12GB download and you should be able to play it)(Please note you won't have access to servers only "play with bots" and some workshop maps. I haven't tried to play with others in this demo viewer but please try it out and let me know)
Lastly I have found a video which shows how some youtuber played cs2 on mac, however a lot of comments say it is both glitchy and buggy and often crashes. Also note I haven't tried this and this could potentially damage your laptop. But the video is here if you don't care about the safety of your laptop - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_QfDyFaM7s&list=LL&index=5&t=52s
Thanks and stay safe

PS: I currently do not own a PC, console or switch and playing on Mac was my best option to playing games and I could possibly get a PC in the future but playing on Mac is my only solution for the time being
Oh, here we go again
"it's not financially worth it" - Why it supports Linux ?
Do you have stats on platforms CS gamers use ?
Steam not equal CS
Linux market share on STEAM has actually overtaken macOS when combining all distros, including Steam Deck/SteamOS.
But this situation is for sure not due to market percentages.
Looking at steamdb cs2 depots it seems like it's going to work on mac
Correct. Just not at launch, like the faq stated.
