CS2 STEAM DECK (Question)

I'm at work, and brought my steam deck. I heard that CS2 dropped and wanted to try it out.


Well when I logged into my steam deck library, I noticed that it still says CSGO on it, and whenever I'm just on the page where it says install it practically soft freezes my steam deck.

The shoulder buttons, and the steam button along with the button with the 3 dots stop working as well. It also causes a freeze when trying to restart the steam deck, or go into desktop mode.


On top of that after just being on the page for CSGO it makes it to where even other games in my library won't load (there is just the steam logo spinning in the top right)


I've done the drive matainance, I've checked for system updates, and I've got rid of my lock screen, and custom boot animations.

I've even went to desktop mode, and shut off my steam deck from there and I've also rebooted it countless times.

When I don't go to the CSGO install page. Everything works just fine.


Not really hurting for CS2 atm I have a PC at home.


I just wanted to ask if anyone else has been having issues with this, just so I know I won't have to send my steam deck in to get fixed.

I did. Use the three line button which opens a quick option menu and from there hit install. But just so you know it doesnt support linux and no proton seems to be working so I think it is not steam deck compatible.

Only the beta didn't support linux, the full release today did indeed ship a linux version. But I have yet to see anyone successfully get it working on the Deck..I hope they get it figured out soon though

Thanks for the replies everyone. Yeah I ran it the minute it came out, but after like a day I can run it on the steam deck. Pretty fun haven't been into Cs for awhile.

I can run it pretty well on the steam deck, but I haven't seen any settings for actual controller support so I use a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

Guys, CS2 on Steam deck is awful, I don't understand why valve doesn't fix it for its own console ...

I mean you can't expect to be able to play competitively on the Deck. I think it's fine for quick casual play, but definitely nothing serious..the in game FSR option helps alotttttttt
