Change language of game audio?

So, I just tried CS2 and... for some asinine reason, the game's audio (radiocommands, roundwin/loss, etc.) are in Japanese for me.
I looked through the console and the options in hopes to find something, but didn't have any luck.
I also checked the game's properties and the game is set to English.

Anybody got any idea? Reinstalling the game currently.

Edit: Minor updates of the latest ongoings:
-reinstalling the game did not work
-Steam support has said that they forwarded the issue to the CS2 development team and then closed my ticket
-issue seems to be tied to the account as when playing on an alt account, the game works as it should (for me at least)

Same here. Just started another topic on that as I just found your post now. All language settings (via steam properties or start up command) just affect the written language. The announcer voice is somthing asian.

I actually have news for you regarding that:
the spoken language is Chinese. If you look closely, you will notice that there is almost no blood in the game, and the little blood that is there is black. And any imagery containing skulls is removed.

In other words: we are playing the Chinese "Perfect World" release of CS2.

Don't bother, I already tried that with no success.
The weird thing is: on my second account, the game works fine.

Yeah, I am also from Germany.
Kinda wondering if it's got something to do with censorship in Germany somehow. Like, not intentionally but as a bug.

I messaged support and asked them about it.
In all honesty, I don't mind the altered skins or the lack of blood. But the audio is just annoying me.

same problem here, extremely anoying playing with audiopcalls,...

same here, supposedly it has to to with the version we bought, there seem to be versions/bundles that have a "low violence" tag. Looks like those are affected.

Support took note of my bug-report and has forwarded it to the CS2 devs.
Now we wait
