CSGO 2 Achievments
I was expecting achievements to either transfer over or at least have a legacy achievement page or something since its technically the same game just with an update. Thought they would do it like other games when it comes to keeping around no longer obtainable achievements, but currently updating and I see that there are now no achievements in CS 2, I was also expecting them to add some new achievements and also keep the old ones, but this has to be only temporary for them to have zero achievements right????

There's 1 achievement rn "A New Beginning" with the description being "This is Counter-Strike, too." like... I want my achievements back. No idea why would they remove them, just hoping they bring them back.

The new one isn't achievable either.

I have an achievment, it's weird. It says 0,0% of people have it

It would have been nice if they had announced it somewhere.
Yesterday I had more than 4000 achievements in total.
I am just glad I found the reason why I no longer have more than 4000.

It is very unusual for valve to remove something we earned I must admit. I will be disappointed if these achievements are just completely erased. Legacy achievements should be a thing here. Hope you're listening valve.

That's cool and all, but I want all the achievements I earned over my playtime of CSGO back.

Not sure if valve has the ability to have a "legacy achivement" tab. Afaik not. And there wasn't really a game before CS2 which replaced the entire gameID of a game, right?

I'm sure valve thought about that but found no good solution. Maybe they will do something about it in the future.

But honestly achivements for CS mean nothing. They never were important and more than 95% of them were extremely easy obtainable anyway and the others were just either silly infinite grind or people used server commands or workshopmaps and got it that way. I also had all on my main and nearly all on other accs.

CS always was a game which focused on the game itself. No silly grind like most games do nowadays.

That's not the point though, if you grind for something you want to have it displayed. Yes I played 1800 hours that I absolutely enjoyed, but I started achievement hunting not long ago and CSGO was one of the first I completed. That's why I'm upset. It annoys me that all that effort was deleted just like that. Also the "No silly grind like most games do nowadays" comment is absolutely stupid, achievement or trophy hunting has been done long ago so it's not new. It just resurfaced again. Plus that comment can be used for earning ranks in CSGO aswell.

You seem to not understand where I'm comming from. I play videogames since the very early 90's. And achivements slowly got a thing in the mid 00's. Before that people enjoyed the game. Just the game. They lived in the here and now. Achivements unconsciously force people to do something they otherwise wouldn't do.

Take WoW for an example. People before achivements just played the game. They dueled every day for fun. Went into dungeons for fun. Only grind was rank 14. With classic rerelease and now hardcore classic people also enjoy the game as it is again. But retail WoW? Since WotLk all people care about are achivements. People need at least 25.000 hours of efficient playtime to achive all and only a hand full has all. If someone argues with you it isn't about your experience or skill but people put you down when you've less achivementpoints. It's really sad to see where the game went. And many other games are the same. What are you doing in assassins creed? Opening all stuff, finding all stuff. Not because you've fun searching everything. You even see the marker on the map and just run from a to b because you have to. People do it for silly achivements.

Achivements are the easiest possible way to keep people playing their game. And achivements mean you can reduce the quality of the game itself. Game doesn't make fun? Just implement an achivement where you need to fish 1000 fish which takes 50 hours and you know a lot will do it.

So yeah. Achivements are bad game for the quality of the game and for the happyness of player. You think you're happy by doing achivements. But you aren't. You're happy that you finished something you didn't want to do.

If the game isn't good or I'm not enjoying it I'm not gonna finish the achievements or even the game most of the time. I completed CSGO achievements because I enjoyed the game, hell all of the games I have on my Steam as perfect are games I enjoyed. If I'm not enjoying the game Im not gonna spend time playing it just for the achievements... I enjoyed CSGO that's why I'm annoyed and even after completing them I kept playing because the game was enjoyable.

They should implement CSGO's achievements back into the game, perhaps through a legacy tab as someone has suggested. :bigups:
