Farewell to CS:GO and Welcoming Counter-Strike 2
Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow gamers, and devoted members of the Counter-Strike community,

Today, I stand before you with a heart full of gratitude and excitement as we bid farewell to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to welcome the dawn of a new era: Counter-Strike 2. This is a momentous occasion, one that marks the end of an incredible journey while heralding the beginning of a new adventure.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been an integral part of our lives for years. It has challenged us, brought us joy, and connected us with people from all corners of the world. Together, we've endured epic matches, unforgettable plays, and the camaraderie that can only be found in the world of esports.

Today, we say goodbye to a game that has been a constant companion, mentor, and muse. CS:GO has taught us valuable lessons about teamwork, strategy, and perseverance. It has honed our skills, forged our friendships, and etched memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.

But now, as the curtain falls on this chapter, we turn our gaze toward the horizon of Counter-Strike 2. This new installment promises to bring even more excitement, innovation, and unforgettable moments. It is a testament to the enduring spirit of this game that it continues to evolve and captivate us.

As we embark on this new journey, let us not forget the bonds we've forged in the fires of CS:GO. The friendships we've made, the rivalries we've cherished, and the community that has supported us through thick and thin – these are the treasures we take with us into this new adventure.

I want to express my deepest appreciation to Valve Corporation for giving us Counter-Strike and for continuing to nurture this incredible community. CS:GO has been a testament to the power of gaming to bring people together and create lasting memories.

So, as we bid adieu to CS:GO, we do so with a sense of nostalgia and a smile on our faces. The memories we've created here will forever be a part of us, and they will undoubtedly shape our journey in Counter-Strike 2.

To my fellow players, friends, and all those who have shared this incredible journey with me, I say thank you. Thank you for the camaraderie, the unforgettable moments, and the support. Let's carry the spirit of CS:GO into this new chapter and continue to make memories that will define our legacy in the world of Counter-Strike.

Farewell, CS:GO, and welcome, Counter-Strike 2. The adventure continues, and we're ready for whatever challenges and triumphs lie ahead. Thank you all, and let's continue to make history in the world of Counter-Strike.

You do realise it is still Tuesday all around the world and also the 26th. The 27th, which is the rumoured date that CS2 will release is tomorrow, so maybe you should bake this thread and your goodbye for actual official confirmation, rather than the day before who knows what.

So, what's going to happen tomorrow? CSGO becomes CS2? Or it will just be an open beta that we can opt in?

I think it would be a bad idea to replace CSGO entirely with CS2. Millions of poor players that can't afford better hardware, especially from third world countries, won't be able to keep playing their favorite franchise anymore and will be left behind. They will have to switch to Valorant.

Counter-Strike 2 will replace CS:GO entirely. Based on leaks according to SteamDB, the old version of CS:GO will be available for download to view legacy demos, much like how we can currently download the 2012 release version of CS:GO for the same reason.

Also that second point should not matter to developers lol, it's not Valve's problem if people are using 10+ year old hardware and expect to run modern games with it. It's such a non-argument, I don't know why you bother bringing it up.

i'm quite a bit disconnected from all this news (but obviously aware of CS2), what will happen to everything we know about CS:GO? Will stats suffer a complete reset? What will happen to skins? Yeah, i'm that disconnected lmao

No one knows for sure yet about whether stats will be reset or not. I assume your rank from CS:GO carries over into CS2 (your in-game level for drops/service medals 100% does).

All skins will transfer to CS2.

I imagine this. CS2 will enter Open Beta either Wednesday or very soon thereafter. Competitive Premier is seasonal and the current season is displayed as Beta, and I see this continuing until full release, allowing all players to get a Beta rank after 10 matches won. Doing so will reward players with a coin/pin, similar to the Loyalty Badge, acknowledging service during CS2 Beta and given to players once CS2 is officially released.

Just my thoughts on how this will go.

This game gives me depression, one of the most toxic communities I've seen. I miss 1.6 and Source.
