CS2 BUG: pak_01.vpk file is corrupt. Verify Integrity of game files.

After a certain CS update, I don't know which one, but after that update CS2 just would NOT work at all. This error keeps popping up. The game starts verifying the integrity of game files on its own, and every single time it does nothing at all. I've tried deleting the materials and models folders and then verifying the integrity of game files, and yet nothing happened. I deleted all of the package files and verified the game files once again and nothing happened at all..

What I haven't tried yet is reinstalling the game which i am saving as a last resort until someone gives me another solution to it..

I can't seem to find any solution for it on the internet either. Last I've seen are some reddit posts 10 years ago, during CSGO launch. I even did a memory test since i thought maybe it's an issue with my hardware but that's alright as well.. I'm at a dead end.

EDIT: The error went away after I reinstalled the game. I've seen this work only for a select few people. Most of the cases, this doesn't work, and the error continues to show up. Many have proposed variety of solutions under this post, be sure to try all of them, and if the problem still exists... #ValveDoYourJob

I got the same error 2 times in 3 days...

That can point to the issue with the HDD or SSD, where game is installed. Try to check it with CrystalDiskInfo.

I reinstalled the game and now the error is gone. That's how I got rid of the error for me, if it doesn't work for anyone even after reinstalling then I still have no clue, sorry.

nope, so far after reinstalling the game i havent gotten the error yet when opening cs2. so it seems like for now thats the only solution for it sadly.

En mi caso reinstale el juego y el error persiste, intente bajandole los graficos al minimo pero en algunos mapas(la mayoria) me sigue tirando el error. Verifica la integridad y luego el error sigue apareciendo, no puedo jugarlo. Lo proximo a intentar es moverlo a un ssd.

Yo lo he resuelto desactivando el perfil xmp de la ram. He perdido algo de FPS pero no crashea, entiendo que esto lo tienen que reparar ya que me sucede desde el update del viernes

getting the exact same error. got it on old pc on launch day (pc had some issues, bit dated but high end), built brand new pc 13700k, 48g 7200mhz ram, 6900xt ultimate new 5.0 nvme, win 11 pro. nothing in the pc is the same, other than this error. its the game.

Keep getting this error. Checked my ram with memtest and checked my drives with crystaldiskmark and both passed with no errors. Seems to occur randomly

I had the same error, and the only way to fix it was to uninstall the game and install it on another disk

I keep getting this and subsequently game bans. Reinstalling did not fix this.
