Do people really get a free knife just for asking on the forums?

I've seen it a few times before and it always seemed weird to me, so called too innocent, but really?

Has it ever really happened, just to ask please in a post?

Or are you just messing around trying to collect steam points?

Are there really people so generous as to come along and say, have a knife, the most expensive and prestigious item in the game?

Nope. It's just scammers and trolls. Even the cheapest knife is worth over 100 dollars. Nobody is giving anyone 100 dollars for free.

Nah, but that one guy giving away steam points on cs2 release was legit.
It's just people farming awards, with fake giveaways.

Has it happened? Maybe once in every second blue moon.
Is it likely to happen again? Also maybe every second blue moon.

Is there an abundance of kids who think that begging is the way to go, and on top of that has no sense of value? Yes, yes and yes. They're everywhere. But hopefully wisdom will come with age.
The downside is that there will always be another kid waiting in line to put on the beggars robe.

beggers are farming forum reports.
and giveaways are scamming your steam points.
any friend request will attempt to scam you.

Rep farming, point farming, you name it. Sometimes even phishing.

There are few legit giveaways, but usually those worth pennies or even a few dollars at best. Legit giveaway are quite rare.

Even if it's legit, sometimes it done for promotion. Like, you have to subscribe, like, share, etc. Eventually the value of the skin is surpassed by the marketing value, hence it's good for "marketing fees"

Making giveaways here is just not worth it.
I tried it, and some guy called me a scammer when I asked his tradelink to send him an item.
Not to mention tons of beggars and so on, and some people mad on you they didn't win.

Most giveaways here are also fakes to farm awards.
Even if those people throw their items, they send items to their alt accounts.

And like people said begging is against the rules.
Actually giveaways were also against the rules AFAIK.

The thing is some legit giweaways people are not interested but they comment on fake AK 47 ones where they gave 70 awards and 1000 comments and what did you know he picked his own smurf account who actually never commented on that thread IMAGINE THIS(you could check his acc post history)

Wait, giveaways is actually against the rules? TIL. I threw two RMR sticker (cheap as pennies) as giveaway yesterday. Maybe that's why it's not online until now.

Edit: I did won ONE M4A4 MW desolate space back in the day on youtuber stream, which he picked from subs (require you to sub and like, not to mention share, bla bla bla). It was a legit one, but i believe he gained more from the skin value, because yeah, like 230 valid entrant? when he hand it out to me, he said that his sub grows a lot, so marketing fees.
